My zen v plus won't turn on. I tried reseting it. I tried reseting it while pushing play and sliding the power slide towards on. I tried doing both while the player was connected to my PC and I tried both when it wasn't connected. When I do plug my zen v plus to my PC, it says that it's in recovery mode, but when I move the joystick nothing happens. I also took the player apart and diconnected the battery and then hooked it back up. Please help me, I don't want to buy another one what could be wrong and what can I do?

How to break volume restriction password ZEN XFI 2 ?

Boot the ZVM into Recovery Mode and select Cleanup from the menu. This will reset any user defined settings, including the passwords.
To boot the player into Recovery Mode, do the following:
  1. Insert a paperclip, earring stud, or other slender, unbreakable item into the reset hole located at the bottom of the player to press the reset button inside. You should feel a "click" when you've pressed the button. Press and hold the reset button.
  2. While holding the reset button, slide the power switch toward the power icon and hold it there. Let go of the reset button.
  3. When the Zen bootscreen appears, release the power switch.

The screen froze and keypad just wouldn't work. How to restore it?

1 Turn off your player.

2 Press and hold the Play/Pause.Continue to hold the Play/Pause button until you perform Steps 3 and 4.If you accidentally release the button, start the procedure again.

3 Gently push the end of a thin object (like a pin or straightened paperclip) into the Reset hole. The reset button for the ZEN Mozaic is located on the left side of the player, with the menu buttons facing you.

4 Slide the On/Off/Lock switch towards the power button and hold until the display lights up. The Recovery Mode screen appears, and four menu items are shown: Clean Up, Format All, Reload Firmware and Reboot.

From here you should be able to choose to reload the firmware.

I want to delete ALL the memory on my ZEN V plus MP3 player, how do i do it?

This is definitely possible, you just need to follow these steps (step 1 assumes its plugged into a PC) Please click the YES button at the bottom of the page here to indicate this answer was helpful, it is extremely important to me that you do so and will be a huge help to me.

/To format zen = 1.Detach the player from the PC and power the unit off.
2.Slide the Power switch towards the power icon and hold the switch.
3.Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove.
4.Release the Power button when the Recovery Mode appears.
5.Select Format (All) and select Yes to format the player.
6.After the player has finished formatting, select Reboot.
7.Now your Zen will be wiped clear.

Wont Turn ON

(1) Hit the reset button for 5 seconds.
(2) Hit the reset button, slide down the on/off slide, and have it plugged into the computer at the same time. Hold for 5 seconds.
(3) Hit the reset button again.
(4) Charge it for at least 10 hours in the port in the BACK of your computer.
(5) After 10 hours, unplug the player and press the + volume button. While still holding it, plug the player back in. Keep holding it for 5-50 seconds. (most likely nothing will pop up).
(6) Let the player sit UNPLUGGED for a good 3 hours.
(7) Plug the player back in (it should light up now). Let it charge the usual time it takes to charge for an empty battery, about 6 hours.

Creative Zen freezes

This should help you right here: Detach the player from the PC and turn the unit off. Then slide the power switch towards the power icon and hold the switch. Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove. Release the power button when the recovery mode appears. Select format (all) and select yes to format the player. After the player has finished formatting, select reboot. Then retransfer the tracks to the player as doing the format will erase the whole player.

Keeps going to recording

Try pushing down the reset button with a pin. You'll see the reset button right below the on-off slide (it's a small hole). Hope this works.
