That sound is going to be your door lock motors wearing out. I would suggest getting them replaced pretty quickly as they will soon stop locking altogether. It's not cheap, but it isn't horribly expensive either.

Hello! There is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) written for this problem... TSB # 23-03-99, written on 02/12/1999, addresses the Sliding Door Lock/Latch Control as the cause of the loud grinding noise you are hearing...If the vehicle was covered by warranty the mechanism would be replaced on their dime...It would appear that your vehicle is not.. Replace the Lock/Latch mechanism...

2008 Dodge Grand Caravan door lock button won't work on driver's side?

Question edited to add maker.
Question moved to model category.

The problem here is the wiring harness where it travels from the door into the door frame. Constant opening and closing of the driver's door bends the wires back and forth until they work harden and snap. This issue ONLY happens on the driver door.

Once you get inside there, you can check with a multimeter and replace that wire.

2007 dodge caravan door locks constantly unlocking when driving or parked but only happens intermitently.

Of course this is an electrical malfunction.

Can you please run a scan on this vehicle?

There are likelihood that the gear is loosing it's position. When the gear is set to P-Park the doors open and when set to D-Drive the doors automatically locks up.

Thank you.

Doors lock themselves

Sounds like the keyless entry system is malfunctioning. Remove the door lock relay for now until the dealer can reprogram it.

Shift in gear won't go , front wheels locked up

Hate to say it but it sounds like your looking at a new or rebuilt transmission. Get a diagnosis anyway, just to be sure I'm not jumping the gun.
