Will try and point you in the right direction you probably have one of the F7 codes which relate to motor speed, since the lid is locked you have to get the entire top up to do this on the back of the machine there is a screw on each side same level remove slide top bout 1/2" forward lift on the front panel infront of basket to the left should be a plastic packet with the service manual it will tell you how to place the machine in diagnostic and explain the error code and possible causes
This might work try unplugging it for about 45 -60 seconds and see if it clears the problem. The red light is some type of warning and I would be safe in saying it is a safety device gone bad. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Replace Fuse 27 in main fuse box located under the hood black box in far right corner. Then try reseting your battery. Make sure to follow these steps as follow. Unhook the - then + of the battery. Clean both the negative and postive of the battery. Next go under the hood far right and replace Fuse 27 which is 15 type fuse green in color. Wait 20 minutes for reset of the computer then attach the + and - cables back to the battery.
