Pull the battery from the phone and reinsert it.
the lovely thing about Blackberries is that this normally fixes any issue.
If it doesn't however, uninstall BBM and reinstall it using the Blackberry App World.

It sounds like a corruption or the messenger app is having communication issues. Did you try downloading a third app?

You could check for latest patches etc to make sure your o/s is up to date.

are you using an unlocked bold?
it appears you have a corrupt software and you will probably need to reinstall the software.

here is a procedure I found on the Blackberry forum that will possibly help you.
You will need the Blackberry Desktop Software installed on your computer before attempting this.

Problem

The following error is displayed on the BlackBerry device:
net_rim_bb_phone_app killed due to message queue overflow

Cause

This issue may be caused by call logs or BlackBerry device software.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

Task 1: Clear Phone Call Logs

  1. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager on the computer, double-click the Back Up and Restore icon.
  2. In the Back Up and Restore window, click Advanced. The BlackBerry device database information will populate the right hand side of the window.
  3. Scroll down through the list and highlight Phone Call Logs, and select Clear. Note: If you are unable to clear Phone Call Logs, delete the Desktop [SYNC] service book on the BlackBerry device. This can be performed on the BlackBerry device by selecting Options >Advanced Options >Service Book and clicking Delete.
  4. Once the Phone Call Logs database has been cleared, disconnect the BlackBerry device from the computer, and then re-connect it to obtain a new Desktop[SYNC] service book.
If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to Task 2.

Task 2

Create a full back up of the BlackBerry device and run Application Loader in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to erase all data and applications from the BlackBerry device. Refer to KB02318 for these steps. Once Application Loader has completed, perform a syncronization or advanced restore to restore the data to the BlackBerry device. To do this, double-click on either the Synchronize or Backup and Restore icons, and follow the on-screen instructions.

well one u messed up a piece of wiring in ur phone so take out the battery and then unscrew the back if the red wire has scratches or has been cut in a way there is ur problem if thats it u will need to take back the phone

That happens when the phone locks. Always remember to use the Menu button to close all programs instead of the back arrow or they will run in the background causing chaos (phone freezes).

When this happens...take the battery out with the phone on. Wait a few minute then put it back in for a reboot. If the problem doesn't clear up, you will need to either uninstall some programs or see a service center.

Restart the blackberry at first ! if this problem is still coming from Blackberry Messaging App, think about a fresh restore with the latest firmware using information from your carrier provider or blackberry website.

It means that some instruction was executed that led to some unforseen behavior, and that the program did not know what to do next so that it terminated itself.
You must have done something you should not have done or there is a bug in the application.

What do i need to do if my blackberry curve displays a message saying reload software:552?

Hi,

I have had the "Reload Software: 552" error on 2 BlackBerry Curve 8900s. When it occurred again (last night) this is what I did:

[ WARNING! THIS WORKED FOR ME, BUT I WAS LUCKY & IT MIGHT NOT WORK FOR YOU! ]

1. Reboot your BB: alt-rightShift-del

2. Start a software reload from the Windows desktop, via the BB Desktop Manager.

When the reload started, I would get a screen on my BB showing 2 computers talking to each other. After a few seconds, this would crash into the 552 error.

3. 3-5 seconds into the software reload, CANCEL the desktop.

4. This should freeze the apps on both the desktop and the BB. The BB should still be showing the 2-computers.

If you do anything on the desktop at this point, the BB will crash into the 552 error again.

5. Terminate the desktop app processes via the Windows task manager. There are 4 RIM/BB processes to shut down.

6. At this point, the BB Desktop Manager app should be gone, and the BB should still show the 2-computers.

7. Now, start the BB desktop manager back up again, and intitiate the software reload again ...

The Process

You should be creating a backup of your device data regularly, e.g., as often as you update your calendar and/or phone book.

If or when you get a JVM Error 102/Reset message, do the following:
1. Connect your BB to the computer.
2. Run JL_Cmder
3. Choose option 5, wipe the device. This will delete all files - OS and data - from your BB. The BB screen will show JVM Error 507. This means the BB has no files installed.
4. Using Desktop Manager, reinstall your software. When you run the Application Loader, check all the available boxes.
5. When this process completes, restore your most recent backup file.
You should be back to normal, with the exception of having to reregister OTA or other 3rd party apps. Save their reg numbers in your Memo app so that you have them handy.

I updated my os to os 5 on my 8900 curve but i cant find da bb messenger icon or da facebook icon, both applications are installed

you will have to redownload them from your app world I got the new update and it wipes everything off the phone 90% of the time if u can't get the net go to menu / options / advanced options / Host routing table / press your blackberry button and Register with network / all your internat related things will come back and you will gain access to the app tool from blackberry. its called "Blackberry App World"
