My garmin satnav volume goes on and off just when i need it the most. pls help

The cable you use to update a garmin satnav is a mini USB cable. This cable has a USB plug on one end and a small dovetail shaped plug on the other end. Most garmin satnav models have a plug in the back of the satnav, the same socket that you use to charge it. Some models have a socket in the bottom of the satnav beside where the power goes into those models. To update the satnav plug the small plug of the mini USB cable into the satnav socket and the other end into the USB socket of your computer.

To register your garmin device;

• Connect your satnav to your computer
  
• Go to www.garmin.com
• Select your country from the drop-down list
• Click on the myGarmin tab at the top of the page
• Click on "Register your garmin device" and follow the prompts

You'll be asked to create a usernameand password. Keep them safe as you'll need them again if you want to update your maps.

Garmin supply free map updates only if a new map comes available within 60 days of your satnav first connecting to a satellite.
