Go to this link http://support.dlink.com/ProductInfo.aspx?m=DAP-1360 and download the user manual for your DAP-1360. Configure it in the WISP mode following the manuals instructions.
You don't need to connect via ethernet. In your laptop set the IP address to 192.168.0.2. subnet 255.255.255.0
This will probably temporarily disconnect you from your internet but you can reset the IP address back later. It might be a good idea to write your current settings down for later.
Open your browser and enter dlinkap or 192.168.0.50
You will connect to the Dlink AP
follow the directions in the user guide found at the link below. http://global.dlink.com.sg/site_support/DAP-1360/Manual/DAP-1360_Manual_v1.00.pdf
Is this the router that is currently connected to your network, and also the router that is providing you with internet right now? what would you like to setup?
Hey, you're almost there. The connection between the no-wireless PC over ethernet to the DAP-1360 Repeater is fine. The reason it can't connect to your LAN or the internet, however, is that the repeater isn't actually repeating your Ofir network, it is instead creating it's own, completely isolated wireless network (Ofir_EXT).
The D-Link setup and documentation is confusing, and doesn't have proper instructions for the repeater setup.
Rerun the setup wizard, setup as a repeater, then select manual configuration method.
Now, enter the wireless network name of your the network you want to extend (in this case, Ofir). Then enter the same security and password etc. for Ofir in the following fields, just like you were connecting to Ofir from a smartphone or laptop. Once that is finished, you should be up and running. If things worked, you should NOT see any new wireless network. There should be Ofir and just Ofir. Wireless repeaters work invisibly, you'll still connect to the same network like you always did, but now it will have much improved range thanks to the DAP-1360. The computer entherneted to it should be networked on the wireless LAN and have internet access after this as well.
Good luck, I hope my instructions were clear. Wifi networking is easy, it's understanding all the manufacturers less-than-intuitive software that makes it hard.
Pretty simple. It should be set to auto discovery. As long as the WiFi is working ie switched on you shoyuld find your home network pretty easiily. You do need ot knwo the SSID (the name of the network adn teh pasword. Right click on the wireless icon in teh tray to the bottom right adn show the list of netwoprk sits found. One of those should be yours. Simply 'connect' to the network adn entire the Passphrasethat was preassigned when you set up the network an it should automagically connect.
hi jcventic plug off the adapter of dlink modem and then plugin then u can check the led blowing of internt then try if it not works send the problem details to my email [email protected] bye..........
1.- check if your wireless device is working
2.- If not you have to turn it on
3.- Select your wireless network (control panel>>network connections>>wireless networks)
4.- Connect to the network (is the network is pass protected you will prompt for a password)
If above doesn't help, please describe better your issue
hmmm check out your power connection. see is the adaptor giving power to your lap when you connect this to laptop. There might be an indicator at the jack point of laptop to your adaptor.
If the adoptor is not working well then try to use another one of same configuration.
