Aside from the two corporate options provided with the other solution you can also resolve this issue by installing an external waste ink kit (like a Printer Potty) to redirect any new waste ink generated to an easily emptied tank...
... and reset the waste ink counter using the the A10_IPR utility released by Epson some years back. AdjProg service utilities also exist that can do the same job but that reset the waste counter all the way to zero.
Overall though there is no need to toss the printer in the landfill at all given that the CX6600 has the ability to last 5 years or more as evidenced by my own unit.
That message indicates that the porous waste ink pads inside your product are near the end of their service life. Epson recommends replacing the printer, but if you want to continue using it, I'd suggest having the printer serviced at an Epson Customer Care Center. You may also be able to have the ink pads replaced by an independent service provider and use the Ink Pad Reset Utility to reset the Ink Pad Counter to continue using the printer. However, replacement of ink pads is relatively expensive and may not be a good investment for lower cost printers because the printers' other components also may be near the end of usable life. Hope that helps!
