Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Will not turn on.

When you stated no power that there are no lights or fans that can be made to operate, yet fuse checks good.
On some units, the fuseholder will be mounted to a small pc board. Remove the screw that secures this board and inspect the underside for bad connections. What happens is power enters board through power cord but power is not provided to rest of oven.

No lights - no power - DEAD! Worked fine an hour earlier now ... nothing. Check fuse in mains box - all OK - tried it plugged into another outlet... nothing.

Your unit is dead, mains are good, tried in other receptacles, still no power. You have a bad fuse inside the unit. Unplug. Remove the cover. Generally this requires removing all the screws on the back perimeter and lifting the cover up. Sometimes they stick due to old grease, etc. Somewhere in the area of where the power cord comes in or near the transformer there should be a small fuse in a holder. It is not a glass fuse and should be replaced with the same kind (ceramic) and value. This is important for future protection. You can get the fuse at www.mcmelectronics.com . Get a box of five for future problems. If this was the only problem your microwave should work. If it blows the new fuse you could have a shorted power transformer, bad high voltage diode, or a bad magnatron in that order. There could also be a short in the board with the display but that would be unusual. Let me know if you need anymore helpl

Whirlpool gh5184xps over-the-counter microwave no power

There is a high voltage fuse in the unit attatched to the high voltage capacitor, it is the most common problem for microwaves not working. Also check the protective diode, the high voltage capacitor as well as the transformer if the fuse is ok. Good Luck.

Has power to unit but nothing works, ie. oven, clock, timers, etc

If you don't see any light in the display or from the light bulb inside it you probably need to replace the fuse inside the microwave, it should be by the place where the cord goes in the microwave.

Nothing works, blank touch pad

before you replace a circuit board check the inline fuse on the unit if you take off the the front panel you usually can see the fuse it is a 20 amp fuse you will need an meter to check resistences across the fuse it should read read 1 to 2 olhs on the meter if that does not work then you need to check tstat on the megatron itself or the the cavity tstat more than likely it is the fuse

No power to microwave

You may have a blown internal fuse. You''ll need to unplug the unit, remove the outside cover and follow the line cord and you should find the fuse.

Replace it with the EXACT same value that was labeled on the original fuse. You'll probably be able to find a replacement at any Radio Shack store or hardware store.

Replace the cover and plug the unit back in. Hopefully nothing was damaged and the unit will play again.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
