It means the Child Lock feature which locks the controls is turned on. Look for the two console buttons, usually adjacent, with the lock and child symbols between them like the one shown below. Press and hold those buttons simultaneously until the CL light turns off to unlock the controls.

This means "Child Lock".To unlock a washing machine you have to press and hold two buttons, marked "child lock" for 3-10 seconds.

Also you can try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 5 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off

LG Washer CL Code Definition (What does it mean?) = The CL Code on front loading LG washing machines simply means the CHILD LOCK feature is turned ON.

LG-Trom Getting error CL .now not able to operate.after switch on it gives CL in display
IE is a water inlet error...meaning that the correct water level was not achieved within 8 minutes or it did not reach preset water level within 25 minutes...

CL is child lock feature which can be toggled on and off by by holding the Pre wash button in for 3 seconds.. Hope that helps...
