I had the same problem and I contacted LG first by email, this was the response: Please contact our Customer Care line at
1-800-793-8896 Ext 2, and they will be able to assist you with a
replacement. I called the number and they agreed to send me a replacement piece free. I got it in 5 days. May I also suggest that you ask for a manual to be sent also because I cant seem to find one and I would love to activate Name Alert for caller ID during drive time.

Strat with headset 'OFF' then hold power button until light flashes blue and red or solid blue, then search for headset on phone, pass key should be 0000, 1111, 1234.

You can get the manual by searching for the FCCID, which should be in the headset https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

Turn it on by holding the power button for four seconds, Then go to your phones bluetooth setup screen, search for new devices, and pair it. The blue led on the HBM-760 will turn solid blue during pairing. It is always discoverable. The default passkey is 0000. Hope this helps.

Pairing the headset with a phone is a simple task: just hold the multi-function button for an extra few seconds when turning the H500 on, and the blue LED call indicator will turn on. Call LG at 800-793-8896, they will send you a free "complimentary" replacement. I asked for two, just in case!

It is a function within your phone. You need to look for a setting on you phone with something about auto answer with headset or something like that and disable it.

Why wud u want to use a headset to tap a call and that to to ur phone without u answering is it. You have not made urself clear towards the end of ur explanation.

just set the bluetooth earpiece to pairing mode and start searching bluetooth devices from your phone.
