How do i reset my monitor to factory settings? my monitor screen keeps changing colors from blue, yellow, purple, turkish, white, black, red, green. any way to stop it from blinking?

That is very likely not the computer doing that, it is more likely the monitor is failing. Borrow a monitor from a friend and test the system, if the other monitor doesn't act up then the computer is not the problem. As far as resetting the computer that is a process that can take hours and it will wipe everything on the computer clean when it is finished.

Green horizontal

I believe that you must reset the colors of the screen by the buttons on it or try to set colors by the software that the product came with it if any. There should be a setting to configure the 4 basic colours like red green black etc. Try to adjust green. If nothing helpes go the monitor back to test it by the store you bought it if there is warranty. Hope that helped!

PRINCETON LCD-15BLK MONITOR

Looks like one of your backlights is bad, first indication is the red or pink tint, replacement of the lamp is fairly easy. If one lamp is bad the inverter will not work. You can get a replacement lamp from Mouser electronics for about $12

Try turning on cleartype if you are using Windows XP. 1. Right click on the desktop and select 'Properties' 2. Select the 'Appearance' tab and press the 'Effects?' button 3. Check the box for 'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts', then select 'ClearType' in the dropdown list 4. Close the Effects dialog by clicking 'OK' and click 'Apply' to complete the process

Monitor lives its own life ;) Turnes off and on in random moments

It sounds like there's a problem in the power supply or inverter section and it's just teetering on the edge of failure. The disruption of the signal is apparently just enough to kick it over the cliff until it's reset. Sooner or later, it'll need some help, like connections, capacitors, output transistors, capacitors, transformers. Those are the most common failures in these. I think you'll see it get worse
