Power supply in HP slimline s7310n

It sounds like the CPU is over heating. It probably has poor ventilation. Unplug the unit and open the side panel. Carefully vacuum all the dust inside. Be careful not to damage any electronics. You can use a small brush to loosen the dust before vacuuming. Good luck!

I got dell optiplex 755 desktop computer in the power supply unit at the back there is a small button and a green light what are these for??

It help diagnose problems with your computer

A solid green light means the computer is operating normally.

A solid yellow:- the power is operating fine but your computer not processing data. This could mean there is a problem with the CPU or another component on the motherboard.

A blinking yellow light: power supply is receiving power from the wall, but not functioning properly. This generally means the power supply itself is bad and should be tested or replaced.

A blinking green light means the computer is in standby mode

When trying to turn on CPU the power button only blinks yellow but cpu dont come on

The power supply is likely bad. Check the back and see if it has an LED lamp - I think it's a green color near where the power plugs into. If it's not lit or is flashing, then the power supply IS bad.

I have a second-hand compaq sr1303wm and it was unplugged before it was shut down. Now when its plugged in, the green light in the back is blinking but the cpu will not come on.

if it has a power button on the back of the power supply just turn it off and then unplugg it for about 5 mins then plugg it in and turn on the power supply again before you use the computer power button. if this wont work replace the power supply. this could be costly to fix since you could have fried the cpu when it was unplugged but start and the beginning.

My vaio wont turn on and the green light in the back keeps blinki

The green light blinking in the back indicates that the power supply went bad and is not turning on, go ahead and get the power supply replaced. Normally that light is supposed to be fully lit and green.

Monitor looks as if there is no CPU

If the power supply is coming to CPU before activation of CPU then it must be receiving current from UPS. Don't try unplugging, You may get shock. Thank you, Sir.

Hp cpus power supply green light constantly blinking

As always verify all cords are plugged in properly. After that it sounds like you power supply went out. It is not that hard to replace. Make sure you unplug power cord. After you remove the pc cover, Usually you just need to unscrew 4 screws for the power supply. Somewhere on the power supply it should say how much watts it is. Anywhere from 200 watts and up. Just replace with exact wattage.

Computer wont start up. Blinking green light in the back of tower

I've had that happen twice to my Vaio desktop and there was a very easy fix. I'm not a techie, but I found a recommended solution online when this first happened six months ago. I couldn't find the solution again, but I fortunately remembered the steps.

Remove the side pane to access your motherboard cables, etc. Locate the connector on your motherboard that contains the wires going from your power supply to your motherboard. It will be a large, rectangular connector with a lot of individual wires It is not a ribbon cable but should be located next to a ribbon cable connector andnext to a geen blnking light on your motherboard (when the power supply is plugged into the wall). Note: This green blinking light is in addition to the green blinking light on the back of the PC.

This next step is important: You have to disconnect the connector noted above from the motherboard WHILE the power suply is plugged into the wall. Wait a few seconds and plug it back in. The blinking reen light on the motherboard should now be a solid green light. The PC should now power up.

It worked twice for me; I hope it works for you.

No display and wont boot

A Blinking Amber or Yellow power button means that the power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Power supply is easier and cheaper to replace.
