Rename the file to .WAV (change the .QCP extension to .WAV) then you can either play the WAV file itself OR convert the WAV file (for free) with CDex.

I renamed it to a WAV file and it said Windows Media Player cannot play file.....

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2011

    Try this application: ftp://ftp.eudora.com/eudora/purevoice/windows/PVConverter3_0.zip

The QCP format is not widely supported and generally only supported by the device it's used on. You will have a hard time finding a converter for this format, but the application I linked is worth a try. The file extension rename may or may not work depending on the specific device that created the file.

Converted Videos won't play on my Ematic E6 jr

I suggest you try this conversion program and if it works the uninstall the other conversion programs.
Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. Hi lorraine kau...

You are correct...You have the wrong format on some of your songs to play in your player.
You will need a format converter to convert the itunes (AAC format) songs into mp3 or wma to work in your player.
You can download a FREE format converter at this website:

When im download mp4 song, then download file is not properly playing.plz help ne fast

The downloaded mp4 file may have a different resolution than your phone. So you cannot directly play it on your phone. For Nokia E63 the resolution supported is 320*240 pixels and you must convert the downloaded file to this resolution. This will perfectly play the mp4 file on your phone.
If the file is getting stuck during playback, reduce its framerate and bitrate to 24fps and 768kbps respectively during conversion. You have to transfer the file to a computer and perform the video conversion in any converter software because you cannot convert it directly in the phone itself.

Hope you are satisfied with my solution. Thanks for choosing Fixya.

I can not get cd that I have in my computer to

You cannot copy a CD song to a MP3 player, it does not recognize the CD file format only MP3 file format.
You can convert your CDs into MP3 files can copy them to your MP3 player. There are freeware programs on the Internet that convert CD songs to MP3 format, the CD song is rip/converted to MP3 file.
Microsoft Media Player can also rip CD songs into MP3 files as well as playing MP3 files/songs.

My shaker does not play all of the loaded songs.

I had the same problem. The songs that won't play are probably MP4 files and the shaker only plays MP3 files. You need to change the file format of the songs on the shaker to MP3 files. I downloaded "Media Coder" which was free and it converted all the songs on the shaker that wouldn't play to MP3 files and they play now. Google "Media Coder" and download the free program, it is very easy to use. I had the songs converted in about 2 minutes. Make sure the shaker is plugged into computer so that you can choose the files on the shaker to convert. Hope this helps.

Im downloading songs on my cd , they work good when i play them on the computer,, but i want the songs for my car and my dvd in my car isnt taking it... what can i do ,,, change the format is what...

assuming your car dvd can first of all handle copied discs.. can it read mp3 files? (which is what you likely have the songs as) if the player can read copied discs but not mp3 files then you need to 'burn' the mp3's after converting them to wav files (must be at least 44.000 quality to be recognised as music tracks) the good news is most disc authoring programs will do this conversion for you IMPORTANT dont forget to finalize or 'close' the disc after recording it or it wont work

Plug in for downloaded ringtone

You can't actually do that.
If you have the original version Katana, the 6600, it's only plays polyphonic ringtones, in the qualcom format of QCB.
Freeringers.net has a good help section if you sign up with them, here's a cut and paste version.

You basically need a program to convert an mp3 to a wav file format. (like dbpower amp but there are many others, alot of them freeware).
Sound recorder on your computer applications, to pick a segment and crop the audio. Usually about 30 to 60 seconds is good enough. There's a file limit size on the Katana for downloads of about 100kb.
And a converter program that will convert wav to qcb. You can download an application from Qualcom Communications for free, or this little program called purevoice.
http://www.freeringers.net/apps/pvconv.exe
All you do is little drag the wav file over this application and it automatically compiles in about 3 seconds, a qcb file into the same folder.
http://www.qctconnect.com/products/purevoice_downloads.html
Provides the full version of purevoice convertor so you can listen to the quality of the qcb file.

You'll need an application to convert the MP3 or CD to a WAV file. We suggest this free tool:
dBpowerAmp Converter 10.1 (Download and install it)

You'll also need PureVoice for QCP conversion:
PureVoice Converter (No installation. Right click "Save Target As...")

If you're running Windows Vista you'll need the Windows XP version of Sound Recorder:
Sound Recorder (Right click link, "Save Target As...", save to "C:\Windows\System32\")

s_win.gif Conversion Steps:

Note: If you want to rip a song from a CD, replace step 1 with these instructions.
  1. We'll assume you're converting a file named "test.mp3" for this guide. Insert your own file name instead. Run dBpowerAmp and select the "test.mp3" file and click "Open".
  2. Change the drop downs to "Wave", "16 Bit (CD)", "8000 Hz", "1 'Mono'", Output To: "Folder", and "Browse" to select your "Desktop".
  3. Click "Convert >>" and once it's completed click "Finished" and you'll have a file named "test.wav" on your Desktop.
  4. Run Sound Recorder (included with Windows) and from the "File" menu "Open..." the "test.wav" file created in step 3. (if you can't find Sound Recorder, see Needed Applications above)
  5. Shorten the ringtone to 30 seconds or less. You can also crop it so it starts at the beginning of the choirs. To crop the audio clip, use the "Edit" menu to "Delete Before Current Position" or "Delete After Current Position". [?]
  6. Click the "File" menu and select "Save" which will overwrite the "test.wav" file.
  7. Grab and drag the icon for "test.wav" and drop it on top of the PureVoice icon "pvconv". It will convert and create a new file named "test.qcp", almost like magic.
