Looks like the OS is corrupt. You may want to try doing a repair reinstall using the OS CD. What is the version of windows you are using? (XP, Vista, 7)

My computer keeps saying "The last attempt to restart the system from its previous location failed. Attempt to restart again?"

When you boot up, try pressing the delete key to see if that will take you to the bios setup screen. See if the computer recognizes your hard drive, and make sure that it is in the boot sequence. If your hard drive isn't there, it's fried and you have to buy a new one. Next, put your windows disk in your hard drive and see if you can boot from there. There is an option to repair windows if your hard drive is ok. Worst comes to worst, try reinstalling windows. You will loose all your data, but might get the computer back. It's a good idea to keep all important data backed up on a usb drive.

Pc wont boot up

Restore to last known Good Configuration:

To use the Last Known Good Configuration feature, first restart the computer by pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Delete]. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options menu. Select the Last Known Good Configuration item from the menu and press [Enter].

Keep in mind that you get only one shot with the Last KnownGood Configuration feature. In other words, if it fails to revive your WindowsXP on the first attempt, the backup copy is also corrupt.
Use system utility software like RegInOut after restarting windows.

Willnotbootup says file missing statusoxc00000e9

this error can actually be hardware or software related. Things you can try.

**IMPORTANT: Attempt to backup important data if you still can that you may have before you try to fix the issue as it may cause data lost or corruption***

1. Attempt to boot using the last known-good configuration
-Restart the computer, tap F12 as soon as the computer starts until it takes you to the Advanced Options of Windows. Select Last Known-Good Configuration if available and see if your system will boot that way.

2. Attempt to boot in Safe Mode, if it works, try to do a System Restore to an available restore point when the system was working properly

3. Attempt to restore the computer to the original factory configuration or repair/reinstall Windows using your Windows disc. To try to go back to factory configuration if applicable on your system, try to restart the computer and tap F12 while it starts until you get to the Advanced Options screen and look for the option to Repair your computer, then log in with your Administrator Windows User account if prompted and choose the option for the Factory image restore.

If none of the above help , try to see if you can check if for hardware errors including the hard drive. To do so, turn off the computer, then press and hold the FN key on the keyboard. While holding it, press the power button for 1 to 3 seconds to attempt to power it on, release both keys. If successful, this will initiate a diagnostics test which will give report of hardware errors including the hard drive. If the hard drive fails, time to get a new one.

Hope this helps.

Problem restarting Desktop computer

The computer battery needs to be replaced. The computer is missing its BIOS settings, which are stored on the computer battery on the motherboard. It's about the size of a nickel, and pops out easily. Take it to your favorite computer store and get a new one - about $8.
