It sounds like you either had a short circuit or a fuse blowout. You can replace the fuse yourself with a new one, it's fairly simple, but you still might want to check out the manual for your device thoroughly:

Frigidaire gas oven not heating. The broiler and burners work but the lower burner will not ignite. I replaced the igniter however that did not fix the problem. In fact, the new igniter does not glow. I...

Check for volts to the new ignitor. The ignitor draws current which opens the gas valve. If it is not glowing it is not drawing power. Test the ignitor, disconnected, with an ohm meter, it should be under 200 ohms.

STOVE WORKS BUT OVEN WILL NOT HEAT UP - GAS OVEN

There are 2 high likelihoods as to what your problem may be. When you turn your oven on, does the ignitor begin to glow within 15 to 30 seconds? If it doesn't, there is no power going to the ignitor and the control mechanism is going to need to be replaced. If you have a manual dial thermostat control, you can order this on-line at parstdirect.com. If you control is electronic, you will be required to have an appliance technician come out in order to send the old controller in to be rebuilt.

If your ignitor is glowing when you turn on your oven, but it has a very dull orange glow, you have a bad ignitor and it needs to be replaced. This is the most common problem with older gas ovens. The ignitors just burn out after time and do not draw the amperage needed to open the safety valve.

Replacing the ignitor is a fairly easy procedure. Replacing a dial thermostat control can be a little rough due to rerouting the thermocoupler back through the oven body. Unfortunately, the electronic style oven controls can only be sent in for rebuilding and the company that you use will need to be able to handle "Retforrepr Rebuilds".

I have a Frigidaire model FGFL87DCE gas range and the oven will not work. It doesn't light and the gas doesn't come on

the first thing to check is the ignitor.turn the oven on and look to see if the ignitor is getting hot if it not you will need to check the power to the ignitor.if there is power to it then you may neeed to replace the ignitor.

If the ignitir is not drawing enough current then it will not open the gas safety valve

I have a 30" Frigidaire

the most common cause is a bad ignitor. if the igntor is not drawing enough current it will not open the gas safety valve. you should be able to open the bottom drawer and look at the ignitor is working how ever it should be bright white in the middle,if not replace it.

I need to change my oven ignitor and I need a diagram to show where it is located. I have a Frigidaire model FGF353BADB. Free standing gas stove/oven.

Here's a diagram of the oven along with the Oven Ignitor (Part #19 on the diagram) and the Broiler Ignitor, (Part #26 on the diagram). They are located behind the gas deflectors located at the top and bottom inside the oven compartment, accessible from inside the oven, but you'll need to remove the rear panel at the outside back of the stove to disconnect the terminals tha supply voltage to the ignitors.

Be sure to turn the breaker off and/or unplug the range from the 220V-AC outlet first.

Fiigidaire gas oven trips power when I turn oven on

disconnect the wires going to the oven ignitor, turn the unit on see if its trips.if so the ignitor is shorted if not then disconnect the wires that go to the coil of the gas valve and do the same.i think either one of these is your problem.also if theres a fan in the oven do the same.

Electric starter gas oven model jgrp17 won't heat

more than likely your glow bar ignitor has stopped working or at least pulling enough amps to open the safety valve. The floor of the ovens come out may have a couple screws toward the back. take the floor out if a diffuser is on top of the burner remove it. the glow bar ignitor is mounted on the burner turn the oven on and watch it should glow bright red and in about 30 secs open the gas safety valve. If it does not glow you may want to verify power to the ignitor, more than likely the ignitor is the problem. If it glows but does not open the safety valev still replace the ignitor not pulling the required amps to open the safety valve. just put a little dish soap on the screws to the ignitor to help from srtripping them out
