The highest capacity for standard SD cards (SDSC) is 4 GB, so that's the highest capacity card this camera can recognize.

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2011

I beg to differ with you all, but 4 GB is the limit for SDSC cards, which is the card used by this model of camera. It's true that SDHC and SDXC cards have larger capacities; this camera model, however, uses SDSC cards.

If the camera is capable of accepting SDHC or SDXC cards, I will gladly retract my answer.

I just got a sanyo model vpc-603 and it wont turn on even with new batteries

Are the batteries charged and inserted correctly ? It is always best to use the highest power re-chargeable batteries you can get, rather than the cheap ones from low-priced retail outlets.

Can the sanyo VPC-v6 take an 8gb sd card?

No, the camera can only support an SD card. An 8 GB card is an SDHC (SD High Capacity) card. However, the specs of the camera given in the manual list a 1 GB card as the highest density card known to work (but only one brand was tested).

The owner's manual for the Sanyo VPC-C6 is available at the Sanyo site. The direct link is http://us.sanyo.com/dynamic/product/Downloads/VPC-C6_OM_English-18468437.pdf .

I hope this helps.

What type of Memory card should I buy for my sanyo VPC-s120 this is my first camera and I cant find out what type of card I need.

It uses SD and SDHC cards, ranging up to 32GB in size. You don't need to worry about the brand or the speed.

Sanyo VPC-5500 says "card locked"

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I have a gateway dc-t50 camera and replaced the 32mb sd card holds only 12 pica to a 4gb sd card and getcard error message ?

Your problem is in trying to mix and match old and new technology.

Your camera can handle SD cards up to an absolute maximum capacity of 512MB (as per page 21 of the user manual). It's incapable of operating with anything of a higher capacity and totally incompatible with the SDHC card you appear to be trying to use.

Your only fix is to either limit yourself to 512MB maximum capacity SD cards, or to replace the camera with a modern SDHC compliant model which will accept your new card.

I hope that you have found my free reply to be clear and useful and that you can take a brief moment to rate my answer.

What kind of sd memory card I should buy for a sanyo and could it use a multimedia?

Your camera can use an SD memory card up to a maximum capacity of 1GB. It is completely incompatible with later SDHC cards, but will accept the earlier MMC (MultiMedia) card which preceded SD.

1GB SD cards are now getting hard to find in shops, but you can still buy them online quite easily. Stick to major brands, and bear in mind that if the card you choose claims to have any speed advantages over a basic model then your camera is unable to take advantage of those benefits.

You can download a .pdf manual for your camera from Sanyo for free by clicking here.
