By 'Unlock din', do you mean unlock the region the recorder uses, unlock the din input or unlock the tray or what? When recording and you see 'unlocked', it means the DIGITAL signal you are trying to record is unclear or missing. If you are trying to record a signal from another region disc, it will not copy. Add a little detail.
If you are recording from a DIGITAL input like the OPTICAL or DIGITAL COAXIAL and their is no signal, or if it is a 'non-copyable' copy of a digital copy (from a mini-disc or protected audio CD-R) you will see this. You need to record using ANALOG inputs, then you won't have this DIN UNLOCK problem using analog. Double check your digital connections and make sure your digital source is set to 'play' and see if the DIN Unlock goes off. Otherwise, use analog reocrding only.
You must have the unit switched to "DIGITAL" input - switch it to "ANALOG" and record that way. The "DIN UNLOCK" is when you have the lack of a proper digital signal, or a digital signal with copy protection, like you cannot make a digital copy of a digital Minidisc, etc...Does that make sense? Let me know if the "Analog" setting works for you. Good luck.
Hello, Normally, by pressing and holding the menu button down will lock and unlock the recorder. Since this is not working for you, you can unlock it by opening the battery compartment on the backside of the device and removing one of the batteries and then placing the battery back in and closing back the compartment. This will unlock the device also allowing you to use the functions. When I took the battery out for a split second it did not erase my test recording, but leaving the battery out for a long period of time may erase anything you have saved. I just wanted to make you aware of that. If you need an owners manual you can click the following link which will open in a pdf format for RCA Digital Voice Recorder Model # RP 5020A. I hope this helps solve your problem.
If you would not mind, please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.
Unfortunately if you are unable to unlock using the Lock Unlock feature. You will need to format the device. This will erase all data and unlock the machine to be able to record to it again.
Here is what I grabbed from the manual. The message Dig.Unlock Means: "There is an incomplete connection of the digital input jack during digital input recording, or the input signal is not being input properly due to some other factor."
