Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Trying to connect a hp designjet t610 to a network using a usb

You cant from a network on a USB connection. USB connections are for "local" printers. "add" the Designjet T610 printer to your other PC under "printers and devices" tab. Good luck !

Hi, I've got a 5500 designjet and when I print, after cutting paper, the printer reboot and after the initialization, the I/O card doesn't work. After that, I switch off than on and the problems...

It sounds like a bad JetDirect network interface card.
Turn the plotter off, remove the JetDirect card and see if it prints an internal test page without rebooting.
If it prints OK, turn off and reinstall the JetDirect card and see if it prints the same internal page OK.
If it prints OK both ways, you may have a bad Main PCA.

We believe the problem with our LaserJet 5000 GN is the JetDirect 610N network connection on the back. It prints its own internal documents just fine, so we know it's not that. And the network itself seems...

New Part Number is J7934A it is newer version and costs about $75.00 . To test the jet direct, press menu and then information, print the configuration page, if more then 1 sheet comes out 1 will be for the jet direct if this prints there is nothing wrong with the Jet Direct. however if you are printing through the network and you are getting any type of special characters like $%^ it is most likely a driver issue, uninstall the printer and reinstall using PCL 6. You can go to HP's wesite for driver support. Hope this helps.

I have both green light next to the rj45 on my jet direct 610n, but my jet direct doe not show when I print the configuration page, I tried cold reset didn't help. Any idea howni might be able to...

If your JetDirect Ethernet card does not show up on the configuration page then the JetDirest is bad. This is somewhat common with the 610N cards. You will need a new card. They are cheap to buy just about anywhere including Ebay. I have replaced dozens of them over the years.

Respected Sir We are having HP Laser Jet Printer 4600dn it is shwoing error 82.0180 E10 2 Error? What i have to do now

You have a failed JetDirect network card (look on back where the network cable plugs in) usually a grey or white slot card with 2 thumb screws (ex: 610n). If this is add-in card, you can buy a replacement and reinstall it. If the network port is built onto the printers fomatter (main board), then you need an authorized HP repair center to replace and set the serial number through service mode.

Printer Stopped Printing

If you can get a test page this indicates that there is nothing wrong with your printer there should be a little button on the jetdirect box press that and that will give you the jetdirect settings and IP code. Check this with you computer system as your IP host license may of expired and change the jetdirect to suit.

If the network IP code is still the same the cheapest this is to fit a new jetdirect box if this still doesn't work then I'm affrayed that the machine formatter board has become faulty and would probberly out way the cost to repair it that buy a new machine.

I do hope this has helped you
Thanks J

Cannot connect using Appletalk protocol

Given that this issue is three years old, and AppleTalk protocol is no longer even supported, it probably should be laid to rest.

610N dissapeared no lights, empty EIO, reset no help

If you're seeing it intermittently, try the following:

-remove it completely
-power cycle the printer with it out
-check your contacts (be sure no bent pins, etc)
-Try it in a different slot if you have one (most HP's with an internal jetdirect have 2-3 EIO slots, but since you don't mention what model printer you have I don't know for sure).

If it's not talking after all that, likely the jetdirect is actually dead. It's been known to happen. I wouldn't waste the money on a replacement, you'll have better luck getting an external card and it'll be cheaper, too.

HP sells both the JetDirect 170X and 175X externals; there's also the Linksys PSUS4, D-Link DP-300U, TrendNet TE100-P1P, or Netgear PS101NA. Price will vary between $45-80.
