Hitachi nr90ad framing nail gun fires one nail then will not retract fully and dry fires. Have to push firing rod back manually.

Have you disconnected it from the air source and deep cleaned the nail gun? Sometimes even a tiny bit of dirt can block the rails the rod runs in. Once cleaned add a small amount of oil to the rod runners.

NO NAIL IS COMING OUT WEN YOU PRES THE TRIKER

I presume the gun fires but no nail is ejected. A possibility is jammed nails in the magazine. Do you see a mark in your work piece of the driver blade? If yes then it is most likely jammed nails. If not could be a broken driver blade. If gun does not fire could be gas problem. (check in date, yes it does have a use by date), another cause of not firing is a broken wire particularly around trigger switch (switch is on trigger and hence the wires are flexing every time trigger is pressed). Another cause of not firing is a brass spring clip in handle assy if this breaks it stops the gun firing. Recently I have had more broken wires than anything else on these guns. Worth noting is that the Stanley Bostitch nail guns suffer the very same faults. Also note they are the same gun just different colours so you can fit Hitachi parts to the Bostitch and they are cheaper.

I have a Hitachi NR 83A2 nail gun, it still fires a nail, the firing pin retracts but then slowly comes out and stays out. Is there a seal kit available for this problem?

Sounds like you have worn valves or damaged o-rings. Unfortunately Hitachi does not make a rebuild kit for your nail gun. If you go to www.ereplacementparts.com you can find an excellent breakdown of your tool and either order the parts you need there or use the part numbers to search the web for prices and availability. Your tool is on the old side and some parts are no longer available.

Why does my Hitachi nv45ab gun double fire nails?

This gun should be bump-fired only. Do not place the gun on the work and press trigger. Make sure that the safety spring is in place and has good tension. The spring helps to push the foot off the trigger so that it fires once. You could also adjust the screw that pushes on the firing valve. Turn in or out several turns till head of nail is correct when bump firing then lock the nut. The safety foot fits rather loose on the gun and should still work ok but can get so loose that it falls off the nose. Good luck

Fires 2 & 3 nails every so often.

Most all nail guns can be converted to single fire, however, usually parts must be changed. Some brands have two positions on the trigger, others have a button position near the trigger to accomplish same. Check with dealer or email your gun model # and I will explain your to fix. For now you can replace the spring on the safety with one slightly stiffer. Also try nailing with trigger depressed and quickly bump the gun to fire, this method usually works better than placing the gun in position then firing. Good luck with your repair.

My hitachi nr 90 gc nailer was always slow to fire a nail with about a second delay between pulling the trigger and firing the nail. now however the gun will only fire a nail once in about 20 attempts, and...

Trigger may be dirty, as an electrical switch the contacts can be intermittent. Also check to see if the safety plunger is set to correct depth and moving freely. Dirt can build up here......

I have a NR 90GC Hitachi nail gun, it needs excessive pressure on contact tip before it will fire, any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
Did it get dropped? The lower safety might be bent. If not, when`s the last time it was cleaned and lubed.

Sparks when shooting a nail

Hi,
It is common to see sparks. It is metal striking metal. Although, if it sparks alot. It could be a chipped driver blade and the nail would not drive all the way. Does your sink `em?

Hitachi NR 83A2S, Nail wont fire properly

The NR83a has an adjustment just below the triggering plunger. It is a 6mm hex head bolt with a locking nut. Loosen the nut and adjust screw out several turns and re-test. Make adjustment as necessary. I have seen many of these gun without the locking nut which allows the bolt the adjust itself all the way down. AS parts wear this screw needs to be adjusted. The pushing lever and the plunger are wearing smaller/shorter, that is unless the locking nut was missing. Remove gun from air supply for safety when making adjustments. Good Luck an email if you have other qustion about this gun.
