Linksys CIT310 IP Wireless Phone Logo
Posted on Jul 29, 2008

I just bought the Linksys CIT310 IP Wireless phone

Apparently the store that I bought it from had old stock as this was over 1 year ago out warranty the Linkskys' company said. I have it hooked up.

The problem is that when I place outbound calls to land phone calls or in coming land line calls. I can't hardly hear the person talk. My husband has used the phone as well. He has difficulty hearing the other person speak too.

I've looked through the manual and can't find any way to turn up the quality sound of the hearing only the telephone ring sound. I turned up the telephone ring sound but still there is no improvement in the hearing quality of this telephone.

If I can't improve the quality of the haring people speak on this telephone I will return the phone and get my money back as this is useless to me.

Hi

On the phone menu, select "Base Settings" then click on "ringer type". The volume there has 1 - 5, try increasing the volume.

CIT310 Linksys with Yahoo Messenger cannot be hear or be heard

Check you privacy settings. I have found that if I am 'invisible' that it will deactivate the handset ringer and it will access your default system devices for audio and mic instead of the usb phone. Now, if you do not have any thing else plugged in, or your speakers are switched off, then you probably will not hear anything. I have had to set myself to 'available' for everything to work.

CIT310 Linksys with Yahoo Messenger cannot hear or be heard

I had the same problem but I got it fixed. On the main YM window hit Yahoo Voice for a drop down menu and select Calling Devices Preferences. In the Select an audio device section, select "USB AudioDevice" for the mic, speakers and ringer. It worked on mine so I believe it will work i with yours. Cheers!

Linksys cit310 won't work after messenger update

Uninstall all Yahoo messenger. and Yahoo Update
Reboot, remove the Yahoo folder (do a search for "yahoo!", it is under your user directory)
exit out of CIT.exe program (just need to ensure it is not running)

Now install yahoo messenger version on the CD that come with the phone ( it is older version ). Disable or deselect any option for update. after installing the older version restart and you are good to go but remember never update yahoo messenger.

On Yahoo Messenger:
On the top section click on Messenger and then on Preferences. On the 'Yahoo Messenger Preferences' window, click on 'Calling & Audio'. Make sure that Microphones, Speaker and Ringer are all set to 'USB Audio Device' and that the 'Play a Ringtone when I receive a call' is checked.

Linksys CIT310 on Vista, other party's voice is not coming over the CIT310

I had the same problem. I got it figured out though. I called linksys tech support and they told me to update the drivers. At first I got no success. I eventually figured out that you have to manually deleted the old drivers throught your device manager before updating to the new drivers. The link for the new drivers is:

http//:www.linksys.com/vista

Once you get to this page click on the "download drivers" link and then scroll down until you see the 32 bit driver for CIT310 and click. I hope this helps.
