Oven will not stay on

I have a Kenmore oven #911.4012190. I can turn the oven on and set the temp to 350 and the temp will get to about 170 degrees and then turn off. I can then turn it on again and it will stay on about 1 minute then turns off.

My Kenmore Elite Range shows F1 all the time. I can turn it off and the time will appear and a minute later F1 appears. The oven can be turned on. It will start heatine. After a minute or two it will cut off and F1 appears. If I continually reset the oven and turn it on each time it cuts off I can eventually get the oven to heat all the way up to 350 degrees or better but to keep it hot I have to continually reset the oven every time it cuts off. The stove was given to me and I do not have an owners manual. Should I junk the stove or is there a fix for this problem?

I have a frigidaire stove that heats to 50 degrees hotter than the know setting. Can it be adjusted to read correctly?

There is a calibration method to adjust the oven thermostat plus/minus 35 degrees if it is a digital display. The method varies depending on the model range. This calibration method is used to adjust the thermostat if it is not keeping proper tempature. For example if you are setting the oven to 350 and the actual temp it is keeping is 325 then you could use the calibration method to adjust it plus 25 degrees to correct the temp. Just so you know electric ovens will keep a pretty even temp but gas ovens will vary by 40 or more degrees to keep an "average" temp. For example the burner will come on when the oven is 330 degrees and turn off at 370. 330+370 then divide by 2=350. So a oven thermometer may not show you the temp you set it at in a gas oven but does not mean the oven temp is off.

Oven temp stays 100 degrees above set temperature. Have adjusted digital controls but cannot bring it into range.

You obviously have a faulty thermostat, only solution would be to replace thermostat.

My oven temperature is 100 degrees hotter than it should be

It will be the sensor inside the oven compartment that is causing the problem.
A new sensor should cure the prob, certainley cheaoer than buying a new oven.
Hope my advice helps you.

F3 and flashing on Kenmore oven

HI. this is a basic temp sensor issue. the oven control is programmed to cease operations if it dose not receive any resistance signals for the temp sensor during high heat situations.

Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Set oven for 350 and won't climb past 177. funny

The oven probably got switched from showing degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius. (350 F = 177 C.) Try resetting that before you replace any parts.

How can i quit cleaning oven?

During the self clean cycle, oven temp will exceed 900 degrees F. At these temps, if you opened the door, the food inside would immediately catch on fire when the supply of oxygen hit it. When you turn your self clean cycle off, the oven door will remain locked until the internal temp drop below aprox. 550 degrees F for your safety. Once the oven cool below this temp, you will be able to start using the bake or broil again. This should be a Fix-Ya for your oven.
