I have a Kenmore oven #911.4012190. I can turn the oven on and set the temp to 350 and the temp will get to about 170 degrees and then turn off. I can then turn it on again and it will stay on about 1 minute then turns off.
I used what Charlie recommended ...” post-it” as insulation
And works PERFECTLY….

This indicates a failure in the temperature probe. This is easy to check and replace. My Kenmore Elite Range shows F1 all the time. I can turn it off and the time will appear and a minute later F1 appears. The oven can be turned on. It will start heatine. After a minute or two it will cut off and F1 appears. If I continually reset the oven and turn it on each time it cuts off I can eventually get the oven to heat all the way up to 350 degrees or better but to keep it hot I have to continually reset the oven every time it cuts off. The stove was given to me and I do not have an owners manual. Should I junk the stove or is there a fix for this problem?
Who is Charlie and what is the answer? I have the same problem but I don't understand the solution. THX
