When I press on the power button the screen would turn on for a split second then turn off again.

Hold down the power button for more that five seconds to force shutdown. If it goes into sleep or standby (power light flashing slowly) the press power button to power up the press and hold power button again for more than five seconds.Power light should go off then. You can the power up again and it should be OK.

This is controlled by the Split and Swap buttons on the remote; the size of the second picture can be adjusted with the Aspect button. First press split and use the Input button to select the source of the right picture of the split screen (TV channel or video inputs). Then press Swap and use the input button to select the source of the second screen. Swap again if desired or press Aspect to change the size of the main screen window. However, it is not available if you are using the HDMI, PC and SD Card viewing mode. Since the TV doesn't have dual digital tuners, you can't watch two different digital channels on the split screen.

Try to turn off the pc and remove the cables and battery on the laptop. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, then reinsert the battery and the cables on the pc. Turn on your laptop and check if the screen will finally splits sucessfully...

Try pressing the clean cell now button & check pre filter button at the same time hold buttons down at the same time for about 5 seconds with the air cleaner turned of and blue screen lit

Turn on Power
Press and hold the "vol-" button on the front of unit and the "split" key on the remote together for over 5sec.

Screen should say " Lamp time was reset to 0"

Panasonic TY-LA1000 TV Lamp Reset Procedure/instructions:
Per numerous members, it looks like this method works quite well:

• Hold the Vol down button on the TV and the Split button on the REMOTE for five seconds, -or- Press the Volume button on the TV while pressing hte SPLIT button on the Remote Control for five seconds
• It will NOT work if you try to do it both from your remote!

Turn power on.
Press and hold the volume down button on the TV.
Press and hold the "split" button on the original remote.
Hold both for for over 5 seconds in power condition.
Counter will reset and lamp indicator will go out.

oh no please stop,you do know that Fn-F1 puts the eeepc into sleep mode and Fn-F5 switches from internal to external monitor ,its very easy to hit these hotkeys accidently,im sorry i couldnt have told you this earlier

How old is the computer? Make sure that the power light comes onto the monitor when you plug it in, should be orange and then turn green when video card syncs with it when PC is turned on. If you are getting black screen when PC is powered on:
1. Bad video card
2. Bad video cable
3. Bad monitor
1Solution: Try using a different monitor attached to this same PC and see if it works. If it does, then its the monitor, its cable, or its power supply. If it doesn't work, then its the video card or the video cable coming from monitor.
