The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: olympus FE-230 - will not import certain video to computer

Make sure your not running the cable through a hub of any kind.
Plug it directly into a usb port on the computer.
Sometimes the hub can limit the bandwidth (speed)
and with video you need all you can get.
I'm assuming here that your computer is new enough to have the
2.0 usb standard.
Best of luck Paul

SOURCE: Write Protect error and I think all my pics dissapeared!

If you are using an SD card, it could be possible that the Write Protect tab (the yellow tab on the top right) is in the 'lock' position. Slide it back and try again. If this does not work, make sure you are using the card and not the internal memory to store images.

SOURCE: memory card cannot read by digital camera.

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup - go to format option- You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.

How to upload a picture from 2220 nokia to facebook???

Do you have the USB cable for your phone, if you do copy the picture and then upload it to your facebook from your computer by going into profile, photos, upload photos. It is pretty straight forward form there. If you have lost your USB cable (like me) use bluetooth if your computer has it to transfer the pictures. If using a computer is out of the question, go to m.facebook.com on your phone and upload it from there.
Hope this helps

Uploading pictures

Try plugging the camera into your usb port of the computer and then open up "My Computer" and you should see the camera listed in there and you can just double click on it and view the pictures and save where you want.

It may need to have cleaned the USB port in your camera. Dust and dirty can cause such failures.

Other reason is that the USB circuitry in the camera's main board is defective.

IF after cleaning the USB port, you have the same problem, a cheap alternative instad on sending the camera to repair, it's to use a SD card reader to download your pictures from the memory card.

Goto any radio shack and get a external memory card reader this will allow you to get your pictures if the camera or cable is defective.

You should be upload pictures using a USB cable even if you do not have the additional sofware. Once you plugged in your camera, it may take a few minutes for the computer to register a new device and you should be able to view pictures using the Vista popup or in my computer from the "new device"

Can't load photos to computer

Try using Windows Explorer or a similar folder and file locating program to find the camera. In Explorer, choose My Computer and look down the list that opens. If your camera is "seen" by the computer, it will appear in the list and you should be able to retrieve the pictures from there, just like finding and opening other folders and files. If not, the problem is most likely on the camera or cable, not the software or computer.
