Battery on Samsung Wave does not last long even when the phone is not in use for a day, and does not last the day. Also can go down in a few secs. This happens even with internet off. Help!!!!

Have you tried shutting down the phone, removing the battery. Leave it out for a few minutes, put it back in and restart the phone. Sometimes the phone processors lock up and need rebooting.

Ifthe battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Is your phone charging, if it is charging, no problem.

The problem with your phone could be virus problem because virus runs battery down.

The second place to look at is the battery terminal of your phone, It is possible that the battery terminals are corrode, If the are, it will definitely keep running the battery down.

Look at these two areas with care and your problem could be solved.

Well I would suggest exchanging it for another one or have a local cell store or the person you purchased it from help you to set it up.

how old is the phone and more specifically, the battery? rechargeable batteries, unfortunately, do not last forever. i used to have a phone that didn't need charging for days. over time (a few years), i had to charge every night.

will it turn on while plugged in? if so, then it's probably the battery.

have you checked the battery setting? There is a setting for alkaline or rechargeable. You can find out in manual

Depends on your firmware. Updating your firmware on the somsaung site will prolong your battery life. Mine used to last about 2hours with heavy repative use. Music, gps, video etc. Standby would last about a day and a half with a few calls. Now it lasts about 4-5hours with heavy use and standby up to about 4 days with calls here and there.
