I have a toshiba 52 in projection tv Model number 50H82 and the picture is really blurry with lots of vertical lines

Thats a common issue caused by bad capacitors on the hyper module

If the video is shaking, zig zag looking, etc your hypermodule has failed. This is common on your model. Some peeople call it hyper board, hyper module, etc..all the same.

Tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv convergence board,require 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors to be replaced to solved the convergence problems.The shop will,cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

If you have a normal picture with lines through it, or if the picture jumps, tears or rolls, you have a Hyper Board that is failing. The last I checked, the Hyper Board is not available from Toshiba and has not been available for a number of years.

Well, if your horizontal is off frequency and you have diagonal lines then there's no need to look at the Horiz Output Transistor or the Vertical section. You will have to use your scope to check the oscillator freq. and go from there.

This set does not have a lamp. It has 3 crt tubes that converge to create a color picture. The convergance is off a little causeing this affect. Go into the menu and look for convergence or magic focus. You can download the owners manual from Toshiba website to do this. You will need the remote that came with the set.

My RCA 52 rear projection TV has the letters getting blurry on top and bottom, Picture is OK but visually losing my eyesight staring at blurry numbers and letters.

Is this a bulb or simple fix ??

The ser needs to be converged in the factory service mode

You need to replace following ICs, may be 2 pieces in your tv for convergence problem.
