You may be better off posting to cameras instead of the camera flashes category.

How do i take 12 dark, 12 light and 12 perfect pictures with 400 black and white film on a vivitar 3800n camera?

For normal exposure, set the ISO dial to 400. Meter normally, adjusting the shutter speed and/or lens aperture until the green LED in the center lights up.

For dark pictures, you want to underexpose about two stops. One way is to meter as above, then stop down the aperture two stops (larger F/numbers) or increase the shutter speed two stops (larger number) or a combination of the two. Alternatively, set the ISO dial to 1600 and meter normally.

For light pictures, you want to overexpose about two stops. Meter normally then open up the lens two stops (smaller F/numbers) or slow the shutter speed two stops (smaller numbers) or a combination. Alternatively, set the ISO dial to 100 and meter normally.

You can also experiment. Over/underexpose one stop, then two, then three, then four, and even five. You might want to take a notebook with you and write down what you're doing. Record both the setting and how many stops over/under it is. When you get the film back, you can refer to your notes and see what happened.

What if the rewinding lever doesnt rewind ?

Change the batteries under the camera. This camera is electronic. With a new battery, the camera will reset the mirror and you can **** the shutter and lower the mirror. If this does not fix the problem you may have a shutter or advance problem and the camera would have to be send off for repair. Start witht he battery, that is the fix 9 out of 10 times.

Vivitar 3800n film advance lever does not move all the way. it only moves less than a quarter of a turn

make sure film is out and try to rotate the lever from the inside of the camera by turning it if the film release button "at the bottom" pop out then you should be able to use the lever again if not then it's a mechanical problem something might be out of place or broken. i just had the same issue 5 min ago and now it works fine.

What flash will fit the V3800N SLR film camera?

Pretty much any flashgun with a standard hotshoe. The 3800N is extremely basic and does not take advantage of any dedicated flash functions, so you'll find loads of cheap or even free basic manual or auto-exposure flashguns on auction websites and also on FreeCycle.

I'd suggest a basic manual flashgun as you then fully control it. Automatic flashguns try to second guess what it is you're photographing so can often over-expose the subject. You also learn more using a basic manual flash which is probably the only reason to buy a 3800N in the first place.

I was just curious as to where I could get a manual user guide to my Vivitar 3800N 35mm Film Camera.. ?

Best bet would be to check with Vivitar themselves, Otherwise i would try Ebay.

Cameria 3800n mirror broken

Yes, the repair will cost you more then a new used camera. You can find many used 35mm film cameras that cost hundreds of dollars new on e-bay or Craig's List in the low price range. For example, a Nikon or Cannon that sold new for over $1000 regularly sell for under $100.
