Your cd is only contained with driver and applications.
you can still transfer your recordings to your pc all you need is a driver to recognize your computer whats been plug by a usb. as for the application you can still download it from any other website. you didnt include the exact model of your camcorder and for that i cant post for the matter of incompatibily. hope that helps!

DUMB ME... I FORGOT THE MAIN PASSWORD TO MY HDD. HOW CAN I AVOID LIVING EVERYTHING?

Google Knoppix 6.1 and download it,
burn it to a cd and put in your cd rom drive.
Boot from cd rom drive into the linux cd environment
Attach a USB hard drive to the pc and open up the current hard drive from the machine

You should be able to transfer all your documents out without having to put in a password (unless you did full disk encryption)

SDR S7 panasonic camcorder... lost installation disc

The best solution is to get a replacement CD from Panasonic at
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/Hard-Disk-Drive/SD-Camcorders/model.SDR-S7A
They may replace the CD at a reasonable cost (or free plus S&H). Otherwise they can suggest other editing software that can upload your recordings to the PC.

I have a Hitachi DZ-GX5040E digital camcorder but have misplaced the CD Rom and cannot install on computer. I bought it over a month ago, but have all the reciepts. Is there a download for it, or can I...

http://dvdcam-pc.support.hitachi.ca/asp/Email/EmailRegionSelection.asp

To get the software disc, or an email of the software, you can select your country then look for the camcorder 'email support' link. Then ask your question direct to Hitachi.
You will have to give the serial number as well as the model number of your camcorder.
Your cam is not designed for to transfer by cable direct to a pc.You should record onto a DVD, than you can transfer it from the DVD to your PC.Of course, in your caseyou will have to get back a software disk first! Does not your cam record onto SD memory cards too? Big sizes of those...as big as a DVD are getting much cheaper now.You can transfer easily from one of those, to a pc by using a simple SD/USB adaptor if your pc does not have an SD card reader. The adaptors cost less that £1 in the uk.I guess they are less than US$2 everywhere. They are just a plastic thing with a USB plug on one end, under a cap.The other end has a cap too, and you remove it to slide an SD memory card insided. The it becomes a USB memory stick, and anything on it can be downoaded to a pc.
There's a lot of other useful information linked to the above page, such as DVD camcorder FAQs, user manual downloads etc., but in general, there are so many different Hitachi sites in a country, that the correct one is hard to find. When I seached using your cam model number, it kept coming up as unrecognised, and I just kept trying sites until I found it.Tha letter 'E' on the end of the model number appears to mean European.
Good luck.

Dropped camera - RW Disk thrown out - Some recordings are "gone"

A substantial percentage of my Memorex 3.5 "CDs won't finalize, and when I subsequently try to review the photos on the camera, it tells me there are no files on it. Nothing will download to the computer via the USB either.
There is a software program that always saves me when I get careless and fill the disk to full. It''s called CD Roller. It''s called CD Roller. good luck please mark the post with a fixya
