To get the software disc, or an email of the software, you can select your country then look for the camcorder 'email support' link. Then ask your question direct to Hitachi.
You will have to give the serial number as well as the model number of your camcorder.
Your cam is not designed for to transfer by cable direct to a pc.You should record onto a DVD, than you can transfer it from the DVD to your PC.Of course, in your caseyou will have to get back a software disk first! Does not your cam record onto SD memory cards too? Big sizes of those...as big as a DVD are getting much cheaper now.You can transfer easily from one of those, to a pc by using a simple SD/USB adaptor if your pc does not have an SD card reader. The adaptors cost less that £1 in the uk.I guess they are less than US$2 everywhere. They are just a plastic thing with a USB plug on one end, under a cap.The other end has a cap too, and you remove it to slide an SD memory card insided. The it becomes a USB memory stick, and anything on it can be downoaded to a pc.
There's a lot of other useful information linked to the above page, such as DVD camcorder FAQs, user manual downloads etc., but in general, there are so many different Hitachi sites in a country, that the correct one is hard to find. When I seached using your cam model number, it kept coming up as unrecognised, and I just kept trying sites until I found it.Tha letter 'E' on the end of the model number appears to mean European.
Good luck.
How can I get a cd-rom for my video camcorder?
