For most openers you don't need the old code.

Just press the program button on the powerhead enter the code you want in the keypad and press enter (within 20 seconds).

Sears Craftsman key pad is about 20 years old. Need to re-program code. I know you hit a few numbers then the 4 digit code but I can't remember the #'s.

If it is a wireless keypad do this:

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

If it is hardwired do this:

To program the keypad, first unplug the garage door opener from the electrical outlet. Next, remove the nameplate from the console that the keypad plugs into and locate the program/operate switch. Flip the switch to program. Next, enter your desired four-digit PIN number into the keypad. Slide the switch back to operate and plug the garage door opener back in. The keypad should be programmed.

How to reset garage door opener pad without old acess number

A Stanley garage door keypad is wall-mounted, battery-operated device that allows you to open your home's garage door electronically without having to manually lift the door or use a pull chain. The keypad uses a four-digit access code that you program after the keypad is initially installed. You can change the code, disable the keypad manually by entering a invalid code and reset the keypad if the device is not working properly. After you reset your Stanley garage door keypad, the device is ready to accept a new access code.

I can't get my key pad for my garage door to open. can i reset my key pad to open my garage door???

You can reset the code but it sounds like it may have just failed. Make sure the battery is good and try more than one just in case. To reset the code:

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter.

I've got a Craftman garage door and it has a pad

On the back of the motor unit near where all those white wires go you will find the smart/learn button. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter. Should do it.

Two codes open door

You must hold that red button in for 6 seconds to erase the memory. Just remember you will have to program your hand remotes plus the wireless keypad.

The lights on my Chamberlain garage door open remain ON all the time.

Easyer then that, you die!

Get on your step ladder, ( if you don't have on, get on *********** in-law's back for a change,) ,

press the read button of your unit (motor) and a led should light up,

key in the new code on your key pad, then press the enter button of the key pad,

the light of the unit should blink and the job is done, unless you are standding on *********** in-law's back then repeat all the a/n instruction, question of makking sure it is done right, lol,

Seriously, this is the only way I know to re-program them, if you don't want the lost code to be used by someone that might know it, do a reset on the unit before keying in the new code.

Remember, if you reset the unit, you have to re-enter all of your garage door remote control of that specific unit

Have fun!
