Theres a fan/compressor relay inside the case one side operates the fan and the other the compressor,if the fan side contacts weld themselves the relay cannot cycle and the fan will not shut off, remove the wire from the relay to the fan and see if this kills the fan,but dont leave it this way as the compressor needs the fan for air circulation while operating

I have a keystone 70b dehumidifier. the hose is attached but won't continuous drain. The bucket keeps filling. When I take the hose off, water comes out so I know there isn't a plug that needs to be...

1st make sure the unit is level , sometimes we forget that it needs to be perfectly level to drain out
2nd this also might be a case where unit runs so long and for so long that it never rests, this might sound funny but its not most units need a cool down period where the internal parts cools off and the fluids run out only when the fan inside shuts off , the humidistat should be set at 70% Rh this should allow a bit of a rest period if not you unit is too small for the task you gave it

Should the fan shut off when the humidity setting has been reached for model Frigidaire CAD504DWL 50-Pint Two Speed?

Thank you for your post, friend!

I see that your question is if the fan should shut off once it has reached the recommended setting. The fan will run even when the compressor cuts off so that air can pass over the sensor coils to check the humidity. This is a normal operation. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

The unit turns on compressor and the fan after awhile the fan turns off and compressor still on.

Sounds like it is a bad fan or bearings. Try shutting off the unit as soon as the fan shuts off and see if the fan turns freely. If not, the fan bearings need lubrication or replacement. If they are not serviceable, you will need to replace the entire fan.

Does the fan on a Kenmore dehumidifier run continuously, or does it shut off when the set point is reached? I returned a Frigidaire unit because the fan is designed to run continuously.

That depends on the manufacturer and in what mode you are operating it. If it's Continuous Mode. Yes, the fan will continue to run, as it's recirculating the air, in an effort to determine if and when the humidity level rises. Then the compressor will turn ON to extract the humidity.

Also, most units will do this if they are running thru the Defrost Cycle. This happens when the cooling coils frost over. It to, is a normal cycle.

So, if you are operating the dehumidifier in Continuous Mode, it's acceptable.

On a coleman heat pump DRHS0421CB when the thermostat call for heat the heat pump compressor and fan start for an instant and then they stop and a failure message shows up on the thermostat. This works the...

If both the fan and compressor are going off the problem would be in the low voltage side a safety is opening. Probably low on refrigerant. You need to check refrigerant pressure when the unit is starting, if the pressure drops below 60 psig the low pressure switch will open and shut the compressor and fan off.
You really need to have a service technician check the system out for you.

DE 500P - Fan will not shut off

If you have the fan icon selected, it is supposed to run continuously. If you use the mode button (not the fan button) to change to relative humidity (the water drop icon), the fan should only run with the dehumidifier.

Dandy dehumidifier

attempt to feel the metal fins on the back of the unit. If they do not feel cool, then unit is either out of freon or compressor has failed or compressor is not running. If fins are cool, then insufficient air flow through unit -check fan- or room has very low humidity and humidistat is defective; not shutting down compressor.

Humidifier Runs but no water collected

Are you talking about a dehumidifier or a humidifier. If you are talking about a dehumidifier, it works by blowing air across a cooling coil causing condensation and the water will drip and pool. The cooling is caused by a compressor working like refrigerator, but using the effect to dehumidify. To check if the cooling coil is working there will be a metal can like in it with tubes in and out. One of the tubes should be warm(input) and the other tube should be cold, if not your compressor is not working. If freezing up, low freon. Check to see if the compressor shuts off very quickly, that would be too much freon. This is not user servicable. Now a humidifier works several different ways. One way is a fan with cloth belts rolling through water using evaporation to humidify. Another way is for a circular fan like on a motor to turn. It has a hollow piece into the water. It picks up water and then through centrifugal force aerates. One way is for a sonic humidifier. All the types have a problem with eventual calcification or mineral build up in the water handling paths. Lime-away or Concentrated Lemon Juice will dissolve this. The lemon juice is the most fun. It will turn your toilet bowl white and also remove rust stains from laundry...
