i think your drive Lens is weak that reason your disk is not read or write

Can the DVD written on the HP be read on the IBM?
Can the DVD written on the IBM be read on the HP?
Can a commercially-produced DVD be read on the Zenith?

It's possible that your Zenith has "kicked-the-bucket".

The DVD -R +R means that you can read these types of DVDs that have been created elsewhere, it doesn't mean you can write to your DVD under the format of -R or +R. The CD is a CDRW which means you can read and write to CDs.

I don't think that a factory Satellite P100 has the ability to write to either DVD -R or +R, but to only CDs. I have a P200 that has a DVD -R +R/CDRW and it can't write DVDs. These DVDs you put in are for read only. My Toshiba A215 can but it's a DVDRW/CDRW.

I also have had the same problem with my DVD drive. I Downloaded the new updates from the Lg.com website and Walaaaaaaa!!!!!!!! the problem has been Solved. Do the same for your dvd drive and you also can get your problem solved..........
