Question about BUFFALO 10" Bench Grinder

Open Question

I need the on off switch for a buffalo 3/4 hp, model 8-8. There are several wires hanging out of the front, the way I got it. Where can I buy a switch . Two of the wires come from the back to the plug. One green one is probably ground and it is grounded. I probably need a diagram for the others. Any help?

I also need the grinding wheels and the nuts for each end. Where can I buy these for this grinder, as it looks like a good one. Very heavy duty. Thanks,

SOURCE: need an on/off switch for a buffalo bench grinder

I had the same problem with a Northern Tools bench grinder. These are made in China and parts are hard to come by. I had enough room after removing the old broken on/off switch to install a single pole 15 amp light switch like you use in your home. I simply installed it horizontally and then put the switch cover on. It works perfectly. If you do not have enough room then look for any 15 amp or larger switch that will fit in the housing. Any on/off switch will work. You could even mount the switch on the bench in a switch housing and run the wires from the grinder to the switch and back if need be. Just be safe and make sure there are no exposed wires. As a last resort you could remove the switch connect the wires, eliminating the switch and use a plug in wall switch such as this. 4147a14.png

Need a new switch for buffalo grinder model B-8CB

That entire older Buffalo line of grinders: N-10CB, B-8CB, B-6CB, bgbr-6cb all use the same push pull switch. Most of those grinders were dual-voltage with a starter capacitor and there are 6 wires connected to a 4 contact switch. The "Jet BGS8-076" grinder switch that is used by the older Buffalo's, Galaxy, Duracraft and TestRite grinders is no longer available.
The good news is that there is a replacement switch from another manufacturer: "3030-9001 push pull switch for RDX grinders" from Wholesale Tool is a direct replacement. It has the same 4-screw contacts on the back and the same push-pull diamond pattern front plate.

How to re-wire a Compaq Presario SR2150NX Case power Switch

The plastic front of your desktop computer is the Front Panel.

The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the wires from the Front Panel go to, is the Front Panel header.

F_PANEL_1

The Front Panel header contains connections for the Power On switch, Power On LED light, HarDDrive activity LED light, and so on.

(Look at the motherboard photo. The Front Panel header is at the bottom right. Scroll down for the motherboard illustration )

There are 9 contact pins.
4 across the Top row, and 5 across the Bottom row.

The four pins across the Top row are numbered EVEN.

From the Left side going towards the Right side;
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. There is NO pin 10, just a blank spot.

The five pins across the Bottom row are numbered ODD.
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

A) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On switch

B) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On LED

(LED is dim when the computer is on? Switch the wires around )

C) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED

(LED is dim when the harddrive is operating? Switch the wires around)

D) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

How to know which wires are for the Power On switch, Power On LED, and HDD LED?

Follow the wires into the Front Panel. Remove the Front Panel, and follow them.
(Need guidance removing the Front Panel post in a Comment )

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

joecoolvette

I need an on/switch for a 6inch buffalo grinder model #b-6cb cycle 60 1/2 hp voltage 110 amb2 3450 rpm serial#8587745

Find a Single Pole Single Throw (spst) toggle switch at the local hardware store rated for the load of the grinder. Wire the switch in place and viola you are done! Machines are stupid;they can tell the difference between an oem part and a replacement.

Installed an Upgrated Mother Brd,in my Hp Desktop Tower, but the power Switch receptacle in the New Mother Brd has 16 pns

You need to track the wires from the case front panel to thier locations: one will be your power switch, one your reset, one hard drive activity light, and one your power light. You want to note and label which light or switch they go to then go to the new motherboards manual and plan which wires need to go where.
the front panel switches : reset and power switch- these are momentary switches so it doesnt matter which way they go.
hard drive activity and power light- these should have a colored wire and a black or white. the colored wire will be your + side.
