Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you want to make your connection secure by using a password you need to access the router settings page and change the security type. Follow the instruction below on how to make the connection secure.

If you want to setup a password or security on your router you need to access the Wireless Settings Page. To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.0.1, the Default username is admin and the password is blank. Go to Wireless Settings and under Wireless Security Mode select either WEP, WPA, WPA2 then create a personalize Passphrase. Passphrase serves as the password on the network to make it secure.

Thanks for using Fixya.

good luck, routers are complex, and how you want to use it only matters first, and not TOLD.

Need to re-set my ssid network name to re-secure my wireless network

Some support information for your router can be found at dlink site:
http://www.dlink.com/support/
type wbr and select 2310,

Product info at this site contains manual:
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=WBR-2310
Choose Support Resources tab and then select whether or not you have RevB (it will guide you how you can tell).
You can then download the Product Manual. In the non-RevB manual, what to do with SSID is described on p25, showing where in the set-up interface to enter it. The RevB manual will likely be similar, depending on your exact model.

If you don't know how to access the device's settings, send back a comment and I will assist you further.

Hi, I need to reset my network key on my dlink wireless model number WBR- 2310

You should find a small button on the device labeled reset. Hold this button in for 5-10 seconds until all the lights blink.

WBR-2310 DLINK router is not showing in my wireless network list

I'm pretty sure that downgrading the firmware to 1.0.3 will work. I had been running at this level for quite some time and for some reason I decided to upgrade to the latest version which started the problems for me. I am downgrading to this now and I expect better results. All of the firmware versions are available at http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=470&sec=0. You pick the right hardware revision. PLEASE NOTE: Save off/remember your settings as when you change the firmware it resets all of them back to system defaults.
