If you want to be able to just tip the seat and let if fall without that loud slamming clank, look into getting some Drop-a-Seat cushions, a brand new product that is only $4.99 and absorbs the fall of the toilet seat and eliminates loud clanks. They're non-absorbent, have an easy stick-on installation, and are permanent but removable. www.drop-a-seat.com

The right side front passenger lower control bolt is slipping how to fix the loose bolt on 1997 cherovlet calaiver

if its the bolt that attaches to the spindle thats the lower ball joint u will need to jack up and support vehicle remove the wheel you will need to support control arm with a jack and decompress spring and chain or secure for safety reasons so it doesnt shoot out and cause injury cut or drill out the 4 rivets that hold the ball joint in place [if it is a pressed one will need to buy or a lot of auto stores will let you borrow a ball joint press]replace with new done ---if the bolt is the one attached to the frame need to do same set up and remove old and replace but the bushings are what will slow u down a bit while replacing

Toquer on the intake

start in the center working in an expanding square pattern crossing over the manifold on the first 2 bolts. tighten in 3 steps. these are low torque fasteners, don't over tighten & use locktite.
If reusing the fasteners, apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent to the threads of the lower intake manifold bolts.
Install the lower intake manifold bolts.

Notice: Proper lower intake manifold fastener tightening sequence and torque is critical. Always follow the tightening sequence, and torque the intake manifold bolts using the 3 step method. Failing to do so may distort the crankshaft bearing bore alignment and cause damage to the crankshaft bearings.

Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts.

from front of engine tighten 2 bolt back left side, then 3rd bolt back right side, then 3 bolt back left side, then 2nd bolt back right side, then back bolt left side, back bolt right side, then front bolt left side, then front bolt right side

Tighten the bolts on the first pass in sequence (1-8) to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
Tighten the bolts on the second pass in sequence (1-8) to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
Tighten the bolts on the final pass in sequence (1-8) to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

The toilet seat is very loose and I can't figure out how to tighten it. Please help! Its about to come off completely Thanks

Usually there are plastic caps that snap down over the bolt head.
Shut toilet lid and get down close with a flashlight.

Seat attaches in two places.
Reach underneath and you can feel two bolts with nuts.
You don't need to see them, just feel with your hand.

The bolt head is covered with a plastic cover.
The cover is added for aesthetic purpose only.
Use small screwdriver or fingernail file or nail or scissors to pry up the cover and reveal bolt head.

Use bigger screwdriver to tighten bolts.
You may have to keep one hand on underside to hold nut while turning bolt clockwise.
Another trick is use hand to push bolt all the way up, and then finger tighten bolt most of the way, and use screwdriver for last few turns.

Tighten bolts good and tight, but don't overdo it.
Bolts will come loose again and you can tighten more later.

How do you replace shocks on 1991 buick skylark

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Fig. 1: After you open the trunk lid, use a suitable prytool to remove the trim cover 86888036.jpg
Fig. 2: Some vehicles have a cover which must be removed to access the shock retaining nuts 86888037.jpg
Fig. 3: Unfasten the upper shock attaching nuts 86888038.jpg
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Open the trunk lid and remove the trim cover. If equipped, remove the nut cover.
  3. Remove the upper shock attaching nut(s). If removing both shocks, remove one at a time.
  4. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  5. Unfasten the lower shock absorber mounting bolts. One wrench will have to be placed on the bolt head side to retain the bolt as you loosen the nut. Usually a 15mm wrench is used to remove them. To install: Fig. 4: After the vehicle is raised and safely supported, use a socket to unfasten the lower retaining bolt 86888039.jpg
    Fig. 5: Remove the retaining bolt, then . . . 86888040.jpg
Fig. 6: . . . remove the shock absorber assembly from the vehicle 86888041.jpg
  6. Connect the shock absorbers at the lower attachment and install the attaching bolt.
  7. Lower the vehicle enough to guide the shock absorber upper stud through the body opening, then fasten the upper shock absorber attaching nut loosely. Tighten the lower shock absorber mounting bolt to 35 ft. lbs. (47 Nm).
  8. Remove the axle support, then carefully lower the vehicle. Tighten the shock absorber upper nut to 21 ft. lbs. (29 Nm).
  9. If equipped, install the retaining nut cover, then install the rear trim cover. Close the trunk lid.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.

The trunk of our volkswagon jetta 2006 won't close.

hi this could mean that the slam bar has moved a bit away from the latch, what you will need to do, is locate the slam bar ( its the thing that sticks up normally goldy colour ) either side there are normally 2 hex bolts or star bolts, check to see if they are loose, if they have, tap the slam bar towards the rear of the car so it moves in that direction ( will not move allot ) when done, tighten the bolts and try it, if still no joy, just repeat the process till it does, NOTE some slam bars have a lock nut at the bottom of them instead of the hex bolts, check to see if you have that type before starting, obviously you will need a wrench/spanner to fit it and the hex nuts if you have them..hope this helps please vote thanks

How do I adjust the trunk lid in my 2007 avalon?

The latch on the CAR, not the trunk, can be adjusted ud or down Usually has bolts on both sides that you can loosen. If you are slamming it to close, Adjust latch up alittle, re-tighten bolts and close trunk. It is an easy adjustment. Just be patient end keep latch level

It will speed up and slow down

This is caused by one of four problems. First and most likely, the walking belt is loose. To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns. If it takes more than 2 turns then something else is the problem. The second problem that it could be is the drive belt might be loose. To tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down. The third problem that it could be is the walking belt could be worn and need to be replaced. The fourth problem is that the lower board either needs to be adjusted or is going bad, I cannot be for sure without knowing the brand and model. Let me know if you have any questions.

Have you tightened the screws on the hinges? If they get loose, the lid switch will only get an intermitent contact. There are 2 phillips screws on each side of the lid.
