Cold water barely goes in washer but the hot goes in full speed

take off the cold water hose and put it in a bucket to see if the water flows into the machine

if it doesn't replace the hose
if it does replace the hose on the other end

No hot water coming out of tap but we do have cold water out of cold water tap...any suggestions??

Check your by-pass valve(s) at back of water heater. Water goes in cold to bottom fitting, and out hot at top fitting, so those 2 valves ( if any) need to be open, anything in between needs to be closed. There are a few different by-pass set-ups, so if that doesn't explain it, get back to me with a description of your valve set-up and I'll guide you through it. If valve(s) are all in proper position and still no flow through hot line, I'd suspect faulty check valve in between hot line connection and tank.

My Inglis washer machine (#111-07) which we bought 2 weeks ago, doesn't use any hot water when set to the warm cycle (in between cold and hot), so i can only wash with entirely cold or superhot water...

Hi Elllie602 (!) from retired Englishman in SW France,

2 weeks old? Under guarantee/warantee? Get in touch with the vendor/shop!!!
Even if it takes only cold water for the warm wash (which is a bit daft- normally washers mix the hot and cold accordingly) and heats it, that is not how most hot n' cold washers work.

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I have recently installed a washer in my shop. Only the cold water hose is hooked up since I only have cold water in the shop. I ran the first load and as it filled water is spraying out of the hot water...

First check that you have selected a cold water only cycle. Otherwise the cold water will backfeed through the hot water inlet. If that doesn't help or isn't possible, I suggest you buy a blank cap to screw over the hot water inlet. You should be able to get one from any plumbing store. Hope that helps.

Hot water pours out, cold water trickles. This just started happening this week. Is there a pump that forces the water to move or is the problem more likely the hose is plugged? or is there another...

The dual water inlet valve cold side is just stopped up with sediment. There is a screen filter in the water hose where it connects to the water supply. Cut the water off and unscrew the hose and look in the end of it for the cone shaped filter and clean it out. If that doesn't fix the problem you may have to clean or replace the inlet valve which is at the other end of the hose. The hot water doesn't usually have a problem because any sediment has a chance to settle out in the hot water tank.

We can only use hot water in our Whirlpool 7.5kg WFE1070BD 1000RPM - how to we shut off the hot water and use cold water? We have tried only cold but the machine will not operate. Please help. Many...

Turn off the water to the machine. Disconnect the cold water hose from the back of the machine and put it in a large bucket. Turn on the water to see if you get full-pressure cold water from the hose. If not, the shut-off valve or other plumbing has a problem.

If you do get cold water from the hose, check the strainer inside the hose fitting on the back of the washer. Clean it if it is clogged. If you still don't get cold water in the machine, you have a problem with either the solenoid valve or the cold water fill contacts in the timer (the timer won't start until the tub is up to the selected level, but if the valve isn't opening or the supply line is otherwise blocked, the machine will never fill). Sometimes in this case you can hear the solenoid valve humming (normally the sound is masked by the running water).

If the problem is a clogged strainer, clean out the hot water strainer also.

I find I get better wash results with warm water (runs both hot and cold for the wash cycle). The soap is more active than in cold water, so I don't need quite so much, and the machine doesn't take as long to finish a cycle since it fills faster. Of course, the cold water has to be running to get the energy savings compared to hot only.
