Welcome to Fixya

Bios password cannot be removed by just reseating the cmos battery. You might need to short the board to reset the bios password. Please take not that this is a critical job you need technical expertise in doing this.

Follow these steps:

  • Remove Laptop Battery
  • Remove Memory Cover
  • Spread spring clips to outside and
  • pull out RAM memory
  • Remove clear vinyl label opposite RAM memory slots
  • In the upper left corner you will see JOPEN1 with a white silkscreen square
Inside the square you will see what looks like the letter T over a U. Using a metal paper clip short the U to the Silver 1/4"post connecting the motherboard to the laptop case and hold it for 25 -30 seconds. Place back your RAM memory, put in the laptop battery and test start laptop. you should see a selection of F1 or F2 for setup. Using the F2 gets you into the Bios menu where you reset the time and date. Then Tab over to the SECURITY setting tab and change your passwords. Then hit F10 key

Remove bios password for a panasonic toughbook cf-30k

  • Press "F2" on your keyboard when you see the Panasonic logo appear on the screen. You will immediately be prompted to enter your Panasonic Toughbook Cf-29 BIOS password. Type the word "Biostar" into the password prompt. This is your Panasonic Toughbook Cf-29 backdoor BIOS password. Press the "Enter" key to unlock your Panasonic Toughbook Cf-29 BIOS.

    Boot from cd

    You're welcome Juan.

I believe you can reset the BIOS password, (To None, or one you wish. At this stage of the game you may wish to NOT have a BIOS password,. anymore ;)

All you have to do is remove the RTC Battery (CMOS battery), and then press the Power On button in for 10 seconds.

Go to the 24th photo down.
See that Yellow object with the Red, and Black wires coming from it, and the White plug at the end of the wires?

Just a basic example not installed,

Do not have a direct Service Manual, but maybe these manuals will help,

    BIOS PASSWORD??? HELP!!!

Try typing "Biostar" in as the password. If that doesn't work, we have another option.
The first step would be to try removing the CMOS battery (the coin shaped battery inside the computer that keeps the clock working). Disconnect the laptop from any power source (AC adapter), and remove the main laptop battery. Third, you will have to remove the bottom plate of the Toughbook. Search YouTube for a disassembly video for your model of tough book. Once you've removed the bottom plate, you should be able to see the internal components. Connected to the system board by two wires will be the CMOS battery. After disconnecting the CMOS battery (carefully!), hold down the power button on the laptop for about ten seconds, then let the computer sit for a few minutes to ensure that it is completely devoid of power. You will then need to reinstall the laptop battery (the main, brick-shaped one — not the CMOS) and boot up the laptop. If all goes according to plan, you should be able to access the BIOS and turn off or remove the bios password. Now you can reassemble your Toughbook. Power off, remove the battery, reconnect the CMOS battery, and reattach the rear plate, and you're good to go!
