My DCP-330C refuses to accept print jobs (Windows 7 64 bit with correct driver installed). I have a blank LCD and the Photo Capture button glows constant red. In addition, I can't seem to turn the unit off with the on/off button - the LCD backlight doesn't ever go out. Time for a new unit? Cheers, Kirk/Australia

you have a blocked or faulty printhead/ inksystem, you can print an internal print quality check and do deep head cleans, but in my experience this only helps 10-20% of the time.
deep head cleans use A LOT of ink
if you dont see a big improvment after 2 deep head cleans dont continue as you are just wasting ink
Download
the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit
drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista

You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the
printer at this time(powered on).
Please check the scanner driver of DCP-330P on your computer. It may has not installed yet. A new printer usually equipped with necessary drivers. Please install it on computer and seek for scanner after installation and follow further info on your screen. You can also use scanner and copied sheet from printer.
Please check the driver weather its support Win 7 64-bit or not, because Win7 have 2 varians 32-bit and 64-bit. If its not support 64-bit windows, you can download new driver but must be compatible with 64-bit system. Even if its the latest version of driver, but not support 64-bit system it won't be work. You can download driver from here :
Download the driver/firmware from here
Brother-All-In-one-drivers
or you can use you cd/dvd, but you need to install it using the "Add New Printer Wizard", otherwise i don't think it would be possible. Good luck

do run a simple color copy by coping some kind of newspaper or magazin article. If its ok and all colors +bk can be seen you have to: 1. disconnect the dcp from usb pc board. 2. Uninstall the whole mfl-pro suite. 3. Uninstall the paperport progr. 4. Do make a restart of pc. 5. Install the mfl-pro suite once again AND WAIT(!) until software demands the usb from dcp printer. MAKE SURE TO USE AN USB PORT OF THE PC: DONT USE A HUB! Now you should be able to print from pc doc etc. (choose at printer pref the dcp as the standard printer!!!)
