I got this headset a long time ago and its been working great.... the only problem is that the cord from the computer to the headset is a giant mess it is twisting together in aton of little knots.... I try to undo/ untangle it but it is just like sticking together and does not straighten out. It's the most annoying thing because the cord gets so much shorter and just unsightly
Re: I got this headset a long time ago and its been...
You can try window cleaner lightly sprayed on to a cleaning rag. While
gently pulling the rag down the cord you straighten as you go. Try to
lay flat to help the crinkling.

I personally owned this item, they were great until an inadvertant accident just slightly extended its coord a few days ago, greatly destroying all sound effects other than music. All you have to do to get yours to play sound out of the headset is go into the control panel option. from there, go to Sound. You will find that there are your speakers and your headset if plugged in. All you have to do is right click the headset icon and choose the option "Set as default device" or something to that nature. To be sure they are working properly, right click the icon again and hit the "Test" button, you should hear two jingles, each coming out of a distinguishable earphone. If you find your programs or internet pages not playing sound through your headset at first, simply close them and re-open them. I had the same problem and am now actively searching for my own 2nd pair to replace my poor broken ones =(. I hope my post helped you solve your problem. =)
Hi Itsyen,
go to start menu, control panel, sound.
Then here go into the Tabs and select the Headset as Mic and Speakers.
Apply,
Done !
Thanks and have a nice day

No real easy way to fix this the sound thingy is very very sensitive and the slightest move to it could mess it up but a great head set I use is Skype they work great and the one I got cost 16 bucks and its comfortable and works perfectly..
So no real way to fix without damaging sound even more so buy a new one..
I have the 8 button phone and if you hook up your headset the right way you just have to press the line/feature access key all the way to the right instead of picking up the receiver. Keep the headset on all the time and just press that button to answer or hang up the calls. It works great! ( I have the Dterm80 telephone)
This is a "known issue" that I have raised to Plantronics. Whether they do anything about it, remains to be seen. The workaround I have discovered seems to work with both of my P590 headphones that stopped charging:
1. Plug in the USB charging cable to a laptop or computer that is powered on. 2. Connect the USB charging cable to the headphones 3. Connect the 3.5mm headphone cord cable to the headphone output on the laptop of computer (this is the long cable with the normal 3.5mm stereo plug at each end) 4. Plug the other end of the 3.5mm cable into the P590 input.
