I have an HP c6389 printer i just got my new laptop and tryed to install my wifi printer so i downloaded the proper software from HP home page . But i canot install it at least via wifi . I cant even see my printer via HP installing prog but i can 'see' it on windows "add a printer" please help

Hi. I've gost looked in my Win XP's known printers list and I found that win XP has generic drivers for HP DJ 640. In conclusion U don't need to install something.
Jost plug it in on USB or LPT1 (lpt1 - when conecting to the PC, the printer should be off) and when XP asks for the drivers, select it from the list...

hi this is due to improper Software Installation stapes below

• Un install all printer driver & software u install
• disconnect printer from computer
• restart u r computer
• insert Software cd in to cd rom
• install software ,follow instruction & fill up Information.
• when notify you to please connect printer thorgh USB please connected Usb cable to your Printer.
• printer shuld be ditected then follow instruction
• complite Installation & cheak it out..

if only it was just THAT simple doreen31987
i tried it and it complains that windblows cannot connect to the printer because i have typed it incorrectly (NO!!!!) or the printer has lost it's connection to the server.
i have just connected to it on my mac (the computer and OS that actually WORKS!) and it's fine. windows is behaving like a blind OAP and its doing my head in!
this whole experience is going to prove that windows is complete ****. but if you have any other suggestions i am willing to try them out. it's for my mom not me.
