Thank you for your question.
If the battery icon on your screen is red, you need to charge your ipod immediately. Try charging it overnight. If it is not charged in the morning, there is a good chance your charger is dead.
Make sure the AC outlet you are plugging the charger into is definitely working. In some cases, you may need to bend the prongs on your charger just a little bit so they make better contact with the outlet.
If you have a car charger, or DC charger, try charging it in the car. If it works, your AC charger needs to be replaced.
If it doesn't charge, you may need to send your iPod in for service or take it to the Apple store.

My ipod won t charge

It could be 1 of 2 things. The first 1 I have had the experience of accidentally leavng my iPod plugged in charging for over a day. What happened...it killed the ability of the iPod to hold a charge & yes I tried with another battery & it was a no go. The second issue could be that your actual power supply cable has gone bad and won't work anymore. Now you didn't specify on which manner you're trying to charge it so if I didn't address your issue my apologies. There is a 3rd thing and no its not a combination of the 1st 2 I mentioned happening in conjuction...The 3rd thing could be that the power outlet you're trying to use doesn't work anymore so try another outlet plug.

Computer won't recognize 2 gen ipod shuffle. Can't charge. Usb port is working but message "USB Device Not Recognized" HELP

Can it charge if you plug it into the usb charger in the wall?

If it can, that means that the inside of the shuffle is ok because it's still making a connection and charging. If not, you'll need to start replacing parts. If it charges, keep reading.

I'll assume your on Windows, so right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager. Find your iPod (it will be under drives or something like that) right-click it and Uninstall.

Then go to Action (I think) > Scan for new devices and it will re-discover the iPod, and re-load the drivers for it.

My ipod touch wont work

If iPod touch won't turn on, or if the display freezes or doesn't respond
  • iPod touch may need charging. See "Charging the Battery" in the iPod touch Features Guide.
  • Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  • If that doesn't work, turn off iPod touch and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPod touch for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  • If that doesn't work, reset iPod touch. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If iPod touch continues to freeze or not respond after you reset it
  • Reset iPod touch settings. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but your data and media are left untouched.
  • If that doesn't work, erase all content on iPod touch. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > "Erase All Content and Settings." All your preferences are reset, and all your data and media are removed from iPod touch.

To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.
