WHEN U UNPLUG THE PRINTER ITS NOT POSSIBLE FOR THE INK CARTRIDGE HOLDER TO MOVE TO THE MIDDLE, SO I DONT UNDERSTAND WHATS HAPPENING HERE...

  • Mwenda Kalaluka Feb 24, 2011

    Hello Mykel_N

Am having the error 5200 and the solution I found is:
    * With the printer turned on,unplug it
    * Open the top and bring the ink cartridge holder to the middle
    * Raise the gray bar and remove the print head assembly with the cartridges in it
    * Lower the gray bar with the head missing and close the top with the head out
    * Restore the power, wait till the printer starts
    * It will tell you to put in the cartridges
    * Restore the print head, close the top and the printer should resume working
but I dont understand what exactly I have to "unplug" and the location of the "Gray Bar"...

Hi mpk2210.

  1. Make sure that the power is turned on, and open the Paper Output Tray gently.
  2. Lift the Scanning Unit Cover, then hold it open with the Scanning Unit Support.
The FINE Cartridge Holder moves to the replacement position.
If you want to change the cartridges have a look at the on line guide and go to page 117:
Pixma MX340 Manual
There is a step by step guide including pictures to help you through it.
I hope this helps

Thanks for coming back to me MPK, Sorry I misunderstood your original request.

It sounds like your being asked to unplug the printer from the power supply, so switch it off at the wall.. The problem I can see with this is that the printhead wont move very easily with the power off..

If you lift the scanning unit and the print head does move to the centre with the power on, you could switch the power off at that stage.

Unfortunately like you I can't seen to find any information about the little grey bar either..

That does seem to be the only reference to fixing this error though..

Sorry I couldn't help any further.

the cartridges will center automatically with power on. once they do, THEN unplug the power, remove the ink cartridges, close things up and turn it on. it will give you a message to pull cartridges in so you open it and put them back in.

Hi, my canon MP250 is displaying the error P08 and error 5200 on the computer. Can you help me please

Start with printer powered off
1. Open cover of printer and verify that the ink cartridge carriage is not in the center of the printer. Leave cover open.
2. Unplug the electrical cord from the printer and wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug electrical cord back in, when ink cartridge carriage moves to the center of the printer quickly unplug the electrical cord again. This should leave the ink cartridge carriage in the center of the printer so you can get to it.
4. Lift up the gray arm that surrounds the ink cartridges.
5. Remove the entire ink cartridge holder (not just the ink cartridges). It will lift out easily as a unit. Lower the gray arm that you lifted to remove the cartridge holder.
6. Close printer cover. Plug electricity back in.
7. There should be a message about checking the ink cartridge on the display (I can't remember exactly what it said but it was something like that).
8. Open printer, lift the gray arm that surrounds the ink cartridge area and reinsert the ink cartridge holder (with the ink cartridges in it). Lower the gray arm.
9. Close printer cover.
10. The display should appear normal now, and you should be able to print again.

Ink holder will not stop in middle to change ink

Hi, normally when changing ink cartridge, once you open the cover the printer head move from home to the center of the printer and halted,if in case this not happen something wrong with the sensor, if the printer move from home to center just pull off the power cord to stop the printer at the middle or nearly at the middle just to remove the cartridge and replace it. Upon replacing the ink cartridge, just power on the printer and it will return home to its position.

How to replace catridges for Epson Stylus Office T40W??

Hi,

Good day. I hope this steps can help you in replacing your cartridges. This how i remember doing it. Just follow these steps.

>Make sure the power light is on, but not flashing.
>Open the printer cover and the output tray.
>Press the ink button. The ink cartridge holder moves to the ink cartridge check position and the
power light begins to flash.
>Press the ink button again. If more than one ink cartridge is expended or low, the ink cartridge holder moves to the mark. This
occurs each time you press the ink button until all expended or low ink cartridges have been
indicated. Once all of the expended or low ink cartridges have been indicated, the ink cartridge
holder
moves to the ink cartridge replacement position when you press the ink button. >Open the cartridge cover and place the ink cartridge into the cartridge holder with the bottom down.
Then push down the ink cartridge until it clicks into place. Then close the cartridge cover
>Press the ink button and then the printer moves the ink cartridge holder and begins charging the
ink delivery system

Hope this will help you a bit with your ink cartridge replacement problem. Have a great day.

Lexmark 1240 black ink prints in streaks.

Take the cartridges out, then unplug the machine so the cartridge holder stays in the middle. Take a bunch of wet q-tips and clean all around where the ink would come out. Check rollers and anywhere the ink could have dripped. Double check the maint. station, sometimes there is a wiper thingy that jumps up to wipe the inks.

Removing black ink cartridge

Turn unit off first and unplug it from power supply, then replug and turn it back on.

1. Make sure your unit is powered and not printing.

2. Press the SETUP button and then use the select arrows until you see REPLACE INK, then press the COLOR COPY button. The ink cartridges will move to the replacement position.

3. Lift up the unit's cover, to access the ink cartridges.

4. Pinch the tabs on the front and back of the cartridge, and lift it out of the printer.

5. Before removing the new cartridge from its package, shake the cartridge 4-5 times. Do not shake the cartridge once it has been removed from the cartridge holder.

6. Lower the new cartridge into its holder, then press down on the top of the cartridge until it clicks in place. Caution: Don't touch the green circuit board on the back of the cartridge, as you may inhibit normal operation and printing.

7. Repeat steps 4-6 for any other ink cartridges that require replacement.

8. Once complete, please lower the scanner and press it down until it clicks into place. The EPSON Stylus CX6600 begins charging the ink delivery system.

Pls dont 4get to rate solution. Thanks!!

Erropr code #1200 Lexmark X4270

Tried what blkghost suggested above but had to tweak his advice slightly.

Turn off power to the printer and unplug it from the back of the printer.

Insert the power cord back into the printer. You will hear some clicks and motors moving. Pull out the cord again when this happens.

Open the cartridge bay by pulling the face forward and lifting the bay door up. The cartridge carousel most likely will not come to the center.

trying physically pulling the carousel to the middle. (NOT BY THE RIBBON CABLE) If you can not pull it to the middle push it far right as possible. Listen for a click.

After pushing to the right and hearing a click you should then be able to pull the carousel towards the middle easily. Remove the ink cartridges and power up the printer again.

You will receive an error along the lines of black cartridge missing. Open the bay, insert the cartridges, close the bay.

YAY problem fixed.
