SOURCE: Nokia N73.Incoming message alert gone..No tone, vibration, message envelope
The reason for this is because you have too many text messages saved in your inbox. Delete them all and then change the alert tone, then switch the phone back off and on again.
Problem solved.
SOURCE: Nokia mobile is not notifying me when a text message is received
it means tat the message memory is full in ur mobile
delete some messages then u wil get some messages and the icon wil go off
SOURCE: E63 - contact names do not appear next to text messages in inbox
No duplicates in there if there is more than one number attached to more than one name the nokia refuses to show caller name, cheak phonebook to make sure there is one number to one name only
SOURCE: Missing new text message notification and alert sound
well i am not so sure about what would have went wrong..but you can check if you have enabled Screened messages. In that case messages do come but they directly go into the screened messages.
Does it show signal bars on the screen and are you able to make/receive
calls? If not then that is why. AT&T does not guarantee in building
service. If you do have signal and it is working other than text, then
check your message center number in the device:
From the standby screen, press Menu.
Press Messaging.
Scroll to and select Settings.
Scroll to and select Text Message.
Enter appropriate Message Center Number, then press Done. The message
center number that should be there is +13123149810 (and the + sign does
need to be in front of it)
