Samsung SP48T6HPX/XSA rear projection tv

Our tv has suddenly developed thin lines across the entire screen
the lines appear to be either red or blue depending on the background colour
You could almost describe it as a strobing effect
perhaps what you would expect to see if there was some sort of elecrical interference.
we have turned off all nearby appliances but this made no difference neither did plugging it into a different power circuit
also tried manual convergence and perfect focus
te tv is approx 4.5 years old

We have the same Model Samsung and the same occurred after watching normal viewing. I have ordered and now replaced the STK392-010 Convergance IC's but still the colours are out and displaying RGB as if the set was in 3D Mode. I am trying to locate a Service Manual to give me the acces keys to the Service Menu. As I cannot allighn these colours with the Perfect Focus feature on the remote.

Any Idea's or assistance would be appreciated.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525. In general the picture is great from all sources (cable, component, and hdmi). However, there occasionally are very thin, horizontal lines that flicker across the screen....

I have seen this problem before. It is usually caused by a malfunctioning color wheel. Replacing it should resolve the problem. Let me know if you wish to fix it yourself so that I can find you a replacement.

Toshiba 50H81 projection television

Projection sets have two very common problems.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

PT-47WX, Blue streaks across the screen?

It is not a bulb. It is a picture tube. If there are thin blue lines across the entire screen, not just the edges, and the picture itself looks too blue, it means that the blue picture tube is being driven too hard. This could be because the blue screen voltage is too high, the boost voltage on the blue picture tube is too low, or the video output is leaky or shorted. If the picture has what looks like blue arcs and double images on one or more sides of the picture, it means that one of your convergence IC's has burned out and needs to be replaced. These are things that should be tested and serviced by a qualified tech, so allow an experienced tech to handle it for you.
