I have changed the lamp in a Sony VPL EX-1. I have fitted a YODN (LMP - C150) I cannot get the flashing light to go out which indicates `lamp,cover` and I cannot do anything with the projector.

1,Check the fans ,whether each fan is running,when you turn on the projector
2,if the fans run, then ,check the lamp or lamp ballast

1,Connect the power cord
2,The On/Standy light is red.
3,Press the following keys on the Remote Commander or on the projector in the following order for less than 5 seconds :Reset,left,right,enter.

try replacing the bul/lamp.

You need to reset lamp hours in the menu using the remote

you must reset the lamp hour meter

I found a manual online but says nothing about resetting the timer so call them and they should be able to walk you thru it.

The lamp ballast board is giving you fits. The lamp socket wires attach to the board so it should be easy to locate.

What documents you need for VPL-ES3, let me know please.

Replacing the lamp won't make any difference at all.

If you have checked the fuse on the Powersupply Board and it tested ok , then the whole Board will need replacement.

the cover switch is probably not fully made.
Ensure that the cover tangs are pushing the pin
on the miniswitches.
Try putting slight pressure on the fan or lamp cover to see if the lamp/cover light
stops flashing.
you will need to do a restart on the PJ to check this out
