Officejet V40 will not recognize black cartridge. Either says it is incorrectly installed, or that I have installed the incorrect cartridge. New HP 15 does not help. #6 reset did not work. Rebooted, cut...

HP don't do Mac drivers for this model only Microsoft and linux.

My PC's Operating System is Windows XP. I can't install my printer software. Is there a way to install hp officejet v40 on this one? I'm terrible with computers. Please advise.

There have been compatibility issues with some printers and the XP operating system. check www.hp.com for updated drivers

I just installed a new black ink. The error message keeps on saying wrong color cartridge installed. I replaced with the correct one for my officejet v40. Black 15.

did you try changing the color cartridge too? I had problems with ink cartridges that were not HP cartridges.( not made by HP but some other co.)
