I have been having a trouble faxing lately. It shows the red alarm? I unpluged the fax and checked for a jam. Is there anything else I can check? Thanks, Kevin

Clean the feed rolls you can find in the bottom side of the plain paper tray.

The fax is received by the other party but we receive an error code J72. There is no jam

Dear
If you are sending the fax using ADF, there may be the document jam, Open the ADF cover check the path for any foreign objects.
Also you can send from platen glass without document jam.

Also this may happen to the other end fax machine, better you do a test copy from ADF and Platen glass. and confirm your fax machine is ok.
Thanks.

The alarm light is blinking. We have unplugged it and it's still on.

alarm flasing can be more than one thing. check to see if alarm is representing a symbol on fax machine. It can be jammed paper inside, or toner/ ink run out.

Says paper jam, but none jammed

It is probably jammed in the back door of the fax. Check that and see if you find anything.

Alarm setting

The alarm sounds for only 5 seconds. When you receive a fax and the paper jams, the fax will be received into memory. When it has finished receiving the fax, the alarm will sound momentarily. When you remove the jammed paper, the fax will print automatically.

Rec . paper jam

This means your rollers are either dirty or damaged. The same thing happened to my Lexmark printer and they told me to clean the rollers. Nothing happened it still was messed up so they just sent me a new one...
