I have a 16 gb sandisk cruzer. I wanted to backup files from my old computer to it to transfer to a new computer. When I insert the stick in my old computer a window pops up saying "you do not have permission to save in this directory. See administrator to obtain permission." I do not have an administrator, what should I do?

SOURCE: can no longer save to SanDisk Cruzer Micro 256MB

First, have you tried it on another computer? Basically, narrow down the problem- is it the SanDisk, or something with the USB ports on your machine? Assuming it is the SanDisk, try formatting it. You should be able to format it under Windows Explorer...properties... Or, go into Control Panel... Administrative Tools... Computer Management... Disk Management If you had files on it- they will probably be history. You could Google for recovery utilities, but such getting your files is doubtful. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Attaching Neck Strap to SanDisk Cruzer Mini 1.0 GB

There should be two holes to thread the neck strap through. I believe you have to loop them in a certain way so it stays there.

SOURCE: PC is not detecting my Cruzer micro pendrive but

Sometimes when a flash memory stick fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.

When the flash memory device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.

You need to format the external drive. Format the drive as primary drive and in FAT32. (FAT32 will allow data to be exchanged between MACs and PCs).
Insert the external hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Health

I have a SanDisk Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I need to transfer my data from my old windows98 computer to a new Windows7 computer. However, My Windows98 computer does not recognize my SanDisk Cruzer USB...

Take a router (wired or wireless), and use Ethernet cables to connect the two computers to the router.
Configure the old computer into the same "workgroup" as the new computer (and restart it).
Right-mouse-click on the folder containing the files to be transferred.
Click to enable "sharing" of that folder.
On the new computer, browse the "Network Neighbourhood".
It may take a few minutes for the new computer to "find" the old computer (working through the router).
Access the folder that you "shared".
Copy the files, over your private network, to the new computer.

I can't remove U3 launchpad

I have had a similar problem to this one. It is relatively easy to fix. Step 1 - Backup any files that you want to keep from your SanDisk. Do this by going into my computer and clicking on the SanDisk removable hard drive. Drag and drop the files you want onto a folder on your computer. Remember - If you back up everything BE SURE YOU DO NOT BACKUP THE U3 LAUNCHPAD SOFTWARE. Step 2 - Get into your My Computer folder and right click on your SanDisk removable storage device and select format. After you format everything should be removed from the memory stick. Step 3 - Drag and drop the files you backed up back onto your memory stick. Done! Hope that helps.

I just bought a new computer and I need to transfer files

A SanDisk Cruzer Mini is a memory stick, like a modern floppy disk. Plug it into a USB port (a thin rectangular hole) - it may be at the back of your computer. Your computer should then recognise it and you can copy files onto it.

How do i transfer photos from my hp photosmart m537 camera to sandisk cruzer micro usb 2.0 flash drive 2gb.

Connect the HP camera to your windows pc using the usb cable provided. Open My Computer to ensure that the camera is being properly enumerated (given a hard disk letter). make note of the drive letter assigned.

If you have more than one USB port, insert your cruzer micro 2.0 stick into another USB port. Look in my computer again to determine what drive letter was assigned to the flash stick. Open a windows explorer window for each of the locations. One for the camera, the other for the flash stick. Its likely that the picture files are in a subfolder of a folder called DCIM.

Once you locate the files you want to transfer, you can highlight them using the mouse (click/drag a box around the files you want) and drag them to the other open window (flash stick folder)

If you don't have another available USB slot on the compter, you'll need to copy the files from the camera to a temporary location on your computer and then move them to the flash drive. In this case, make a new folder on the desktop and name it temporaryfiles. open that folder. open the drive letter assigned to the camera and copy whatever files you want from the camera to 'temporaryfiles'...

Then power off the camera and remove the usb cord from the computer. attach the flash disk to the newly free'd up usb port and open a windows explorer window to it. drag whatever files you want from 'temporaryfiles' folder into the folder for the flash stick.

I hope this helps!
