Water level sensor faulty

We have an intermittent fault on our Bosch Maxx WFO 2430 front-loading washing machine. Water pump is frequently not activated during the wash cycle. If I drain the machine manually (through the drain hose) and then try a spin or drain cycle the pump works correctly.
Sounds like a faulty sensor to me.
My question; Are the pump and/or sensor accessible from the front of the machine? The machine is "built-in" and I do not want to unnecessarily dismantle the surrounding structure.

Needs must.........you will need to remove lid........look for thin plastic tube coming from bottom of the drum to the top of the drom......connecting on a small plastic unit......this is the pressure sensor.....remove the tube.......blow down it a few times.............might be blocked by grit etc........

SOURCE: Leak from maytag top load coin machine during spin drain cycle only

Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim

SOURCE: how to remove motor from

Remove back panrl. Remove drive belt, remove 2 10mm motor bolts. Turn machine upside down. Remove bottom cover. Disconnect power lead to motor, disconnect earth lead, gently tap motor out with mallet. Brush mountings then accessible, remove and replace brushes.

Is it waiting to heat up? Try it on a spin cycle and see if it stops. If not, it may be a thermostat fault or heater element not working. Worst case may be timer faulty

Bosch Axxis WFL 2060 Front Load Washer - DRUM DOESN'T CYCLE

This seems to be a fault with the program controller unit or the water level sensor. The program does not advance further after the inlet is filled but operates the drain to exit water. Now the water level sensor must be checked as if this is not working in the stipulated time it will drain out. Also unless the water level sensor contacts on reaching of set level the motor must start.http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1401/how-to-replace-the-bearings-on-a-washing-mach.html

Bosch maxx, WFO 2450 The machine only take water in and pump water out. Engine for the drum i completly dead. Is there a fuse somewhere for the engine, or do I have bigger problems?

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or back feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET valve to open up and allow water to flow into. If this does not happen then the voltage at the inlet valve must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

It won't drain and says F4 on display, I have checked the filter at the front and it is clear, it is plumed in into the sink and that is not blocked? Pls help I can't afford a new washing machine...

That fault code is to do with the drain pump either its jammed or not working remove the front plate at the bottom of the machine undue the filter and check to see if it is either a blockage or something jammed in the pump.

Hope helps.

Hi,when starting the machine on normal wash the filling of the machine starts and stops with the machine ending up over filling, when i put program onto spin it goes through the motions but does not...

If it's over filled it won't spin.

The fault is most likely either with the water level sensor or with the filling solenoid. Both are cheap parts but note the caveat of "most likely". If you buy and fit the parts with no improvement you cannot return them, but a Bosch repair agent can try them and remove them if they're not the cause. The worst case is a failed pcb, but repairing your machine will still be cheaper than replacing it. Barring occasional faults, Bosch washing machines last longer than average.

My Bosch Maxx 2000 WFO 2060 is leaking from the bottom. Could it be that a filter somewhere needs to be cleaned? If so where is the filter located?

The filter is usually located at the bottom right front of washer, sometimes behind a removeable cover, or a drop down flap.If you can locate it, then unscrew it anti-clockwise to remove and clean it.
There is also a possibility that there could be a hole or tear in the door seal so check the seal as well.
Hope this is of some help to you .

My Bosch washing machine is leaving sludge like marks on my clothes. Ran the machine at 90 degrees with soap but no load. Didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

Make sure the draw is 100% clean inside the draw compartment to if the draw is all clean next thing to cheak is the rubber door seal make sure it is clean all the way round next thing to cheak is the pump at the front of the machine pull down the cover and undo the the pump cover by tuning anti clock wise water will come out when you cheaked it is 100%clean put it back together if you get stuck read manual if all toughs things are clean or bean cleaned. do a 90 again with washer cleaning detergent with you can buy at the super market hope this helped.

Bad bosch

The grey sludge may be due to incorrect soap powder (use only front loader) or excessive powder use. Minimise the powder use and insure you do a very hot wash once every 4 weeks to break down powder that may be building up.
