The other solution was to send it to Fine Digital but they closed their doors in the US so they no longer support us customers. Because of this I made a DVD with map data I purchased from them before they closed and I added much better instructions; this DVD updates the firmware in the unit and loads the last map data issued to the SD card. you would need a PC with a DVD drive and SD card reader to use it. you can find these DVDs on ebay for $18 which basically covers my costs only.

you need to reload the firmware in the unit and reload the map data on the SD card, this will fix your issues. as finedrive is not around anymore, here are the files:

This is a common problem with these units, it happens if the unit is shut off while its writing data to the SD card.

nope, that site changed and the file is too large to post. I made a dvd that I sell on ebay cheap, search for finedrive dvd

The 400 supports Canada, the 300 does not. According to their website, they only listed those two models.

well that stinks I had a brite blank screen and I opened it up and fixxed it but not for everyone to fix I need the dvd or card do you have the dvd as you may need to install the system software on the cards also

I have a cd with the programming, including the maps. If you send me a blank with a SASE, I will copy the disk and send it back to you. Or, if you'd rather, send the data card and I can reload it and return it to you. I have learned from FineDrive that no further updates of the 2005 maps on the cd are expected to be forthcoming. NavTour has not answered me yet. They may be able to fix any battery or card problems.
