Do these bands appear even when no input is connected to the tv? It will help us isolate whether its an LCD controller problem or a problem with the video processing circuits
Thats what remove the input source and when you get the no input screen see if the lines persist and let me know.
Oh, so you already replaced the mainboard? Then I am sure that the lines will persist on the no input screen coz I suspect the problem to be the LCD controller. Anyways let me know
I am 100% sure its the LCD controller since the problem persists even though the tv has no input signal to process. Sorry for the delayed response Its 7.30AM here in India and I just logged in. Look for a small board above the main A/V it has 2 ribbon connectors going into the mainboard and 1 ribbon connector going into the screen. Get me the part number off it and I will find you the replacement
You too Amigo. Thank you for using Fixya!

There is nothing else connected to the TV, well, the HD receiver and that's all.
Will do, but will have to let the TV cool down, this may take 2 or 3 hours, but will definitely get back with you on this. Could this be that I replaced a faulty main board with a faulty main board? Anyway will be in touch soon. Thanks
Yes, I did replace the main board within the past year, and yes, the double image was present when I unplugged the receiver. Would this LCD controller be on the main board? How can I tell what components are on the main board? And if I need to replace it AGAIN I'll need the number of it, thanks again and are we getting close?
eagle338 - Don't know if you received my last transmission but yes, I did get the double lines when I unplugged the receiver, would this controller be on the main board? And if so, would you know the number of the main board?
Yes, very helpful.
eagle338 - Thanks for all of your help, as for the replacement, I think I can handle that. Have a fabulous day, and thanks again.
