SOURCE: Getting into a Starmate ST2R

The cases are not made to enter, they have an interlocking plastic housing that isn't suppose to release once closed. The unit can be forced apart at the seam but it will damage the housing,

SOURCE: Are starmate 2 radios able to be wireless

as long as the used one is not actually a refurbished on.e The original ST2 has a stronger modualtor, so transmits very well. This modulator has since been ruled in violation of FCC regs, but unless there is an FCC cop, you should still be ok.

SOURCE: my sirus radio displays

I had the same problem. If your radio is a kit and not factory installed in your vehicle it could be the magnetic antenna on top of your car. I had mine for about two years and from moving the radio around, or docking and undocking it, the wire from the antenna broke. It was not cut all the way through but it was enough to cause it to loose the signal. Check your antenna where it plugs into the back of the unit.

SOURCE: my sirius starmate st2r wont completely start. It

Your board needs to be reflowed. Just pop the front cover off, remove the assembly from the back and heat it up (non-LCD side) until you see the solder melt (it will turn shiny). Let it cool for 5 minutes afterwards. You can use a heat gun (set to 1000 degrees F) that can be purchased at a hardware store.

This has a 50% success rate. The problem may also be caused by an internal fault, like a blown fuse or faulty component.

Radio shows antenna not deteted or acquiring signal but does not work . antenna and all connections are good, ??

The problem is likely the actual connection inside the Starmate. It sounds like you have tried alternate antennas, which can only mean the unit itself has an issue. What has likely happened is the antenna jack inside the radio has come loose and is no longer making a connection, in which case it could be repairable. Otherwise there are plenty of other 12v Sirius receivers compatible with the same connections if you are looking to replace the head unit.

I have the starmate st2 and it does not turn on anymore. I changed the fuse in the power cord. still will not power up. I am considering dropping my service. Help!!

What I did, which was a solution I found on FixYa, is to remove the screws from the back of the unit, pop it open, and resolder the 4 connections attached to the power socket.

Can't found a blow fuse on a audiovox sirus sat

TWIST OPEN THE END OF THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER ADAPTER AND YOU'LL FIND A GLASS FUSE IN IT.
BE CAREFUL THERE MIGHT BE A SPRING IN IT THAT HOLDS FUSE DONT LOOSE IT.
